Christians Want A Salad Bar

Ephesians 4:4-6

“There is one body, and one Spirit,
even as ye are called in one hope
of your calling; One Lord, one faith,
one baptism, One God and Father of all
who is above all, and through all,
and in you all.”

Some restaurants have a table with at least 9 to 12 bowls that have different selections for a salad.  You have seen these tables which are loaded with lettuce, slaw, pickles, beets, olives, onions, carrots and other fresh vegetables.  This is an enormous selection for people to view and taste.  Most of us have been there and done that.

The scripture always has used the word “one” to signify what we are expected to do.  It was when written then as is now.

This is humorous.  More than that, the preversion is absurd.  People decide what they want emotionally, sensuously and feelingly.  No place does the Bible say this is how one is to judge Christianity.

What this illustrates is a lack of training, discipline and commitment.  This sort of mental state produces confusion and weakness.

Napoleon defeated the Prussian army with his citizen army at the battle of Jena.  What this defeat did to the Prussian mind was harden the resolve of the leaders to produce a master warrior.  These people were powerful in battle.

The author Martin van Creveld in the book “Fighting Power” explains the German soldiers were so well trained that in 1914-1918 and in 1939-1945 even though heavily outnumbered in major battles consistently inflected 30% more casualties than the Germans suffered.  It matters not whether it was defense or offense.  Why?  In one word that was training.  Germany saw the war as an art – a person had to be trained.

The church and its members are ill trained for the worldwide conflict with Satan. Now the church wants to have some piety good manners and believe what you want.  A real class act.  Foolish!

There is a colossal war going on that is for the minds and souls of men.  Unless our church leaders acknowledge this upheaval then soon the church will be driven underground.  No Training! Then defeat!

First, there are the cultural atheist and agnostics.  These people are voicing their opinions more and more on the Internet.  For some time these deniers of God have thwarted the influence of the founders of this Republic.  Here are some examples.

No reading of the Bible is allowed in some schools and government settings.  Immoral activity in our leadership.  Stammering and stuttering about righteousness in the public square.  We must all be politically correct.  When we read about bank officers and their greedy ways all the private citizens can do is shake their heads.

The christian church does nothing.  The ministers sit.  The priests are silent.

Then the ancient enemy Islam tells us their perception is death should be waged against we Christians.

In spite of our superpower status the United States has not been able to destroy the various branches of Islam.  It appears in some cases we have encouraged rebellion in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Afghanistan and Syria.  Christians in these countries have met brutality.

The christian church does nothing.  The ministers sit.  The priests are silent.

Our nation’s will has been purged by the socialist, liberals and collectivist.  A major in the United States Army a Muslim, is now being tried for murder at Ft. Hood, Texas after a four-year wait for the court martial.  This man should die.

If a person wants to become a Christian then what is there to offer?  Confusion for sure.

One could go to the Roman Catholic Church.  He or she would be told it does not allow priest to marry.  One man wearing a clown suit speaks for God.  Then there is declared certain people to be a saint.  The list is long with absurd revelations for anyone to accept.

Then there are various groups who say they are Protestants.  Many of them doing preconceived formularizing.  The Methodist and Presbyterians sprinkle infants who have not accepted Jesus Christ.  Then the Pentecostals yell and scream which marks these people as being weird especially when speaking in tongues.  Then there are free christians who just say believe in Jesus and that is sufficient for salvation

In the beginning the blog it was entitled “Christians Want A Salad Bar”.  This blog has tried to show christians are under attack but also the variations in Christianity as a mix.

When we go to a café to eat and there is a salad bar then we are allowed to satisfy our wants by picking some of the bar food.  This is not the same attitude in Christianity.  There is not an array of different types of Christianity.

Ephesians 4:4-6 details this for us.  The fundamentals are these:  One God!  One Son! One Spirit!  One Faith!  One Baptism!  One age of accountability!  One death!  One judgment!  One hell!  One Heaven!

Incidentally, the rules set out above were not created by this writer.

The book of Romans in chapters 1, 2 and 3 set out the sordid state and condition of all men.  There is no need to ever apologize for Christ.  Paul did not.

Romans 1:16

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:
for it is the power of God unto salvation to
everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and
also to the Greek.”

Paul further states we are all in the same condition.

Romans 3:9-11

“What then? Are we better than they?
No, in no wise: for we have before
proved both Jews and Gentiles, that are
all under sin; As it is written, there is none righteous, no,
not one: There is none that understandeth, there is
none that seeketh after God.

There is only one way out of this horrible mess. This was decided in A.D. 33 when Peter gave the answer:

Acts 2:38

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be
baptized every one of you in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye
shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

It is acknowledged that very few will be followers of the Christ.

1 Corinthians 1:26

“For ye see your calling, brethren, how that
not many wise men after the flesh, not many
mighty, nay many noble, are called.”

Christianity is not a cherry picking event. The Holy Scripture gives all this a way to grasp eternity.

“O Christ, the Way, the Truth, the Life,
Show me the living way,
That is in the tumult and the strife,
I may not go astray.
Teach me thy truth, O Christ, my Light,
The truth that makes me free,
That in the darkness and the night,
My trust shall be in Thee.”

Thank you for an excellent article. Indeed a buffet is not what the Lord had in mind for us. There is one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism.

We don’t get to decide what and who God is. We need to turn to God and listen to who He says he is.

Thank you for your comment. It’s true that there are not different types of Christianity. There is only ONE God.

My programmer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on a variety of websites for about a year and am anxious about switching to another platform. I have heard good things about blogengine. Is there a way I can import all my WordPress content into it? Any help would be really appreciated!

All’s I know is a little bit of code – enough to save my life, I guess. I imported this blog from WordPress.Org to a self-hosted website. It was a smooth-enough process. I recommend it. Although, you’ll need to keep a watch out for the spammers and the bots attempting to break into the website. Which they do about – twice every single minute. Good luck to you!
