Daily Living

“But speaking the truth in love,
May grow up into him in all things,
Which is the head, even Christ:
From whom the whole body
Fitly joined together and compacted
By that which every joint supplieth,
According to the effectual working
In the measure of every part maketh
Increase of the body unto the
Edifying of itself in love.
This I say therefore, and testify
In the Lord, that ye henceforth walk
Not as other Gentiles walk, in the
Vanity of their mind”.  Ephesians 5:15-17.

There is one book in The Old Testament that gives many instructions about how to meet these various problems that we all are facing daily. True this book has been a collection on many topics which vary from drinking wine to what a woman who is married could be accomplishing with her daily life. The purpose is to allow and to teach us how to act when we perform the mundane actions on a daily basis.

The book is called Proverbs from what is set out how we can survive. All of these proverbs were originally meant for the Jews but these are so powerful that it would be wise for everyone to adapt these sentences so life can have meaning and purpose.

Your author reads a half a chapter of Proverbs each day. Yes, God is mentioned but it is from a secular pattern that we are brought to an understanding about what to do in our life.  It is in Proverbs 1:1 that we come to a comprehension how certain tasks are to be done.

“The proverbs of Solomon the son
Of David, King of Israel.”

Even if one did not follow any other portion of The Bible – it still would be wise to read this small volume.  Then we’d understand how to act in the strife of life.

One should look with a jaundiced eye what is happening to the people and the events which are swirling around us every single day.

The first place we should see is the fast food industry. It is a type of mass production where one drives up to three solutions. It seems that they are all similar. Here is the progress:

• Drive to the Order Screen, then
• Drive to the Pay Window, then
• Drive to the Service Window.

All of this takes less than five minutes to obtain that first bite.  Well, maybe in two minutes, because these fast food houses are always on a busy street.

The nutrition leaves one wondering if the elements for health are present. It is a huge question that could be questioned. Have you ever wondered why we Americans are plagued with internal sickness – lupus, cancer, Parkinson’s, heart trouble, blocked arteries, and high blood pressure? The Bible tells us do not consume fat.

These places sell fat-coated food.

Another place we should see is how the citizens are obsessed with the sports. The more the spirits grows then the larger the crowd. Just look at the importance college football is all state universities. The idiots dress in school colors, eat out of the back of a pickup and then yell and groan of the game at the other team.

There are names for this madness such as “March Madness”, Bowl games and Number One.

Churches are just as vanity-driven in their showmanship as any sports’event.

When asked about the lavish buildings the remark is always the same “For the Glory of God”. Anyone who believes this –  still believes in the following:

Santa Claus,
• Easter Bunny,
• Tooth fairy,
• Rudolph the red nose reindeer and,
• Mary, the mother of Jesus looks after us.

Then there is the idea that people have that if we are once in grace; then, we’ll always be in grace. This defies the Holy Scripture when we want to construct a building that might only be occupied at the most 4 to 5 times each week.

There are people who hold to the position of restoring the New Testament pattern of worshipping and serving God as found in the books of Acts through Jude. We are not in a “Movement”.  We are in a plea to bring back the First Church. This is not a movement – it is simple and winsome concept in its support of the Church.

One should look out at what is going on in the United States.

The Democratic Party has no message. The liberal churches only want money so the social gospel will have legs to stand upon. Government local, state and national wants more debt to create different giveaways. The Republican Party is as a group: chicken-hearted. Public schools never have sufficient funds.

In short the nation is a mess! The leadership is void of what has happened when a man stands up and says this.  Trump has been belittled when he tells us what is wrong.

He is belittled by the wackos and the elite and the Liberals.

The environment which Paul was put he gave us the Godly the way to live.  It still makes sense today!  This would apply to us also. Here is the situation  which surrounded this man of God:

Slavery was everywhere,
• Nero was in control,
• Rome had forts throughout the empire,
• Women were chattels,
• Justice was slow, and
• Corruption was rampant.

It would be easy to draw similar parallels to us today. Out of all the confusion Paul instructs you and I how to live Ephesians 5:15-17.

“But speaking the truth in love,
May grow up into him in all things,
Which is the head, even Christ:
From whom the whole body
Fitly joined together and compacted
By that which every joint supplieth,
According to the effectual working
In the measure of every part maketh
Increase of the body unto the
Edifying of itself in love.
This I say therefore, and testify
In the Lord, that ye henceforth walk
Not as other Gentiles walk, in the
Vanity of their mind.”

Do not act as bad – such as described in the beginning of this blog. Think before you act. It sounds easy but this means a change of lifestyle. What must be done is to know what God would have us do. This means you must know His instructions as found in The Bible.

There should never be dependence upon any worldly source such as alcohol. However, in on alternative verse there is as a frame of next reference. The Bible is our standard of conduct as set out in Ephesians 5:18-20.

“Having the understanding
darkened, being alienated from the
life of God through ignorance
that is in them, because of the blindness
of their heart;
who being past feeling have
given themselves over unto lasciviousness,
to work all uncleanness
with greediness
but ye have not so learned

Our standard of conduct must be from God. During the campaign of 2016, about the only time this was mentioned was when the speaker at the end would say “God Bless America”. I have yet to hear any business man, politician, or school administrators ever remark the standard of conduct must be a Bible fundamental. Do not expect a change to happen it will not. The task is on the individual basis never the group.

From the time of creation until now God has ordained the family unit. This has been a basic idea in every culture. It never deviates from then until now. It will never be different. When a family environment exist it is a beautiful event.

However, many have decided this is not necessary because in today’s world fornication is accepted as a way of lively. We use fornication as a name when sex is outside the marriage vows. As I have written many times it causes a person and a nation to disintegrate, in the past this author has said seldom do you hear from the pulpit any condemnation of fornication.

It is a burning issue of our day. Yes, it is prevalent among Anglos – but is a way of life in the black community as well as the Hispanic groups. Do not be ignorant this is the reason there have been 55,000.000 murders of small children.

The liberals call this act abortion. You can call it whatever you like – but it is murder, stupid. It is murder!

The pattern for a good marriage is laid out in this chapter how the relationship should exist. The code of conduct is stated here. Christ leads the church and the husband submits to the will of Christ. Then the wife receives her instructions from her husband.

This is all written out in Ephesians 5:22-25, sets all of this in easy words to follow:

“Wives, submit yourselves unto
Your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
For the husband is the head of
The wife, even as Christ is the head
Of the church: and he is the saviour
Of the body.
Therefore as the church is subject
Unto Christ, so let the wives be
To their own husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives,
Even as Christ also loved the church,
And gave himself for it.”

Notice how Paul presents his teachings so simply?

This man had a rare capacity to present complex issues in a very simplified way. He moved from one language to another – and, the basic elements were still present. These verses are set out for us today. They show us how to live in our cluttered world.

The comparison between a marriage and Christ church is made to give us patterns to follow in our lives. You can read this in Ephesians 5:26-29.

“That he may sanctify and
Cleanse it with the washing of water
By the word.
That he might present it to
Himself a glorious church, not having
Spot, or wrinkle, or any such
Thing; but that it should be holy and
Without blemish.
So ought men to love their
Wives as their own bodies. He that
Loveth his wife loveth himself.
For no man ever yet hated his
Own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth
Even as the Lord, The Church.”

There are some things in life we do not understand either how or why God brought this matter about. This list is truly endless and we are not capable of knowing the answer. One such mystery is that when the wife are joined together with the husband. Another is the matter of Christ and his church. There are some situations which cannot be explained by anyone. Words cannot explain what happened or how it happened. Read about this in Ephesians 5:30-33.

“For we are members of his
Body, of his flesh, and his bones.
For this cause shall a man leave
His father and mother, and shall be
Joined unto his wife, and they two
Shall be one flesh.
This is a great mystery: but I
Speak concerning Christ and the
Nevertheless let everyone of
You in particular so love his wife
Even as himself; and the wife see
That she reverence her husband.”

Everyone should read this chapter again and again!

1. Look around you to see what is happening.
2. Know the husband’s place.
3. Know the wife’s place.
4. Understand the place of Christ in a marriage.

“Not now, but in the coming years,
It may be in the better land,
We’ll read the meaning of our tears,
And there, some time, we’ll understand.

Then trust in God through all the days;
Fear not, for He doth hold thy hand;
Though dark thy way, still sing and praise,
Some time, some time we’ll understand.
We’ll catch the broken thread again,
And finish what we here began;
Heav’n will the mysteries explain,
And then, ah then, we’ll understand.

We’ll know why clouds instead of sun
Were over many a cherished plan;
Why song has ceased when scarce begun;
‘Tis there, some time, we’ll understand.

God knows the way, He holds the key,
He guides us with unerring hand;
Some time with tearless eyes we’ll see;
Yes, there, up there, we’ll understand.”
