Danger Lurks

“In those days there was no king in Israel: and in those
days the tribe of the Danites sought them and inheritance
to dwell in; for unto that day all their inheritance had not
fallen unto them among the tribes of Israel.”   Judges 18:1.

When Holy Scripture is read there is always a theme which is presented in the chapter set out before us. There are times it may be a few versus like when Jesus Christ speaks in the first four books of the New Testament. As a reader there must be gleaned what is being told to us. In short, seek the point the writer is wanting to inform us.

There is a theme which the Bible also has in the entire word of God from Genesis to Revelation. It is God has a plan for fallen man’s redemption. However, the Scripture must be read and absorbed to understand what Jehovah is seeking to do for each person. There is no way one can know what God’s plan is unless the Bible is read and then read again. Seemingly this is only comprehended by the few.

It is a common factor for rebellion to be not only in nations but sometimes in families. It is a fact that Satan may pick out a family and sometimes a single person who will not follow what they have been instructed to do. This sort of attitude can be detrimental to others who are in the environment of those who do seek to follow God. This is true in every sphere of life from a person to an entire culture or a nation.

george-soros-financier-of-evilRecently on November 8, 2016, there was a group of Marxist that sought to rebel against the people of their nation. This group was led by Hillary Clinton and her followers. It would appear this radical group wanted to destroy and obliterate the morals and sovereignty of the United States. Look at their insurrections:

Abortion and murder of the unborn,
• Open borders for non-citizens,
• Destruction of the Ten Amendments of the United States Constitution,
• Disregard of law and order,
• Open trade that only went in favor of foreign powers,
• Encouraging the muslims to have more and more power,
• Gun control over the citizen, and
• Denial of God’s power.

There was a rejection by the people of America of these sordid godless people. The people have spoken. Have you noticed it was the states in the area of New York eastward and the west coast where the Marxist attitude existed. Then when these people do not obtain what they consider should be the outcome the young are encouraged to go to the streets not just to march but they are destructive of the private property of others. This is anarchy.

Hopefully, enough is enough! These people hate what God has told us to do. Look at the morals of these godless demons. The life style of the godless and others is well documented.

What your author is stating is that there is the constant attempt to destroy God’s theme and plan. Do not be surprised by the actions of such people. Some form or other this will always be this way and that is the reason we Christians must always keep our guard up. To relax a God given command will always be a disaster.

There was a family, not the entire tribe of Dan, that wanted and eyed the city of Laish. One should recall that God through Joshua had told the various tribes where they were to settle once coming to their new home. This can be seen when the book of Joshua is read.

In Judges 18:3, we read how this all started.

“When they were by the house of Mi’cah, they knew
the voice of the young man the Levite: and they turned
in thither, and said unto him, Who brought the hither?
And what makest thou in this place? And what hast
thou here?”

There were five men who started looking for the family to move. Actually what these men did was to come to the house of Micah. There these men came upon not only Micah, but the priest who lived with Micah. Actually this event is a container in Judges 17. What Micah did was also to create figurines which were worshiped as a god. In Judges 17:8, we can read this.

“And the man departed out of the city from Beth-
lehem-judah to sojourn where he could find a place:
and he came to mount E’phra-im to the house of
Mi’cah, as he journeyed.”

Their lived a Levite of Micah who told the five men to go forward in their journey. How this Levite could know this we do not know. The priest said in Judges 18:6, that God said continues.

“And the priest said unto them, Go in peace: before
the Lord your way wherein ye go.”

When we depend upon the voice of others then trouble will come. We are taught in the Bible the way to acquire wisdom is through reading the divinely inspired word and prayer.

Let God speak to us. Each one of us has a mind so we can use it.

There is a quality that the scripture has. It is the truth. The passage in Judges 18:7, sets out the truth.

“Then the five men departed, and came to Laish, and
saw the people that were therein, how they dwelt
careless, after the manner of the Zido’ni-ans, quiet
and secure; and there was no magistrate in the land,
that might put them to shame in anything; and they
were far from the Zi-do’ni-ans, and had no business
with any man.”

They were careless in their defense and no person was present to administer judgment. When law and order breaks down then trouble starts immediately.

In the United States, this has happened when the FBI and the Attorney General refused to move forward against Hillary Clinton and her gang of Socialist liars and Laish.

The people of Laish were careless, foolish and self-secure. This was false security.

Since the five men had been to the house of Micah they already were acquainted with the priest of the house of Micah. It was at this point since the five had brought with them 600 warriors o do battle for Laish.

The Danites went to the city and stood guard while the five Danites to go to the house of Micah and took the figurines by force while the priest and Micah stood by. This was an act of theft by the Danites. There was no resistance from those who were about to be robbed. It was told to us in Judges 18:17-18.

“And the five men that went to spy out the land went
up, and came in thither, and took the graven image,
and the ephod; and the teraphim, and the molten
image: and the priest stood in the entering of the gate
with the six hundred men that were appointed with
weapons of war.
And these went into Micah’s house, and fetched the
carved image, the ephod, and the teraphim, and the
molten image. Then said the priest unto them, what
do ye?”

The entire story has the ending of the priest leaving and traveling with the Danities.

We must understand there were no administrators, rulers or law enforcement in Israel at the time. Thus, if you wanted what your neighbor had – then take it  –  because might made it right.

Does this sound familiar? There was no right or wrong. The sword determined whether justice could ever be given out. In our time, the law only applies to the “little people”. Never to those with money or power or office holders. From all indications, Hillary Clinton will not be taken to the bar of justice. It was a political deal of no charge. The Clinton Foundation has been dropped into a pit of forgetfulness. In our time theft and corruption still exist.

Basically Micah was a coward. He would not fight.

We know Micah acted as a fool. He would not rise up except to cry like a spoiled child. A threat was made as told to us in Judges 18:25-26.

“And the children of Dan said unto him, let not thy
voice be heard among us, lest angry fellows run upon
thee, and thou lose thy life, with the lives of thy
And the children of Dan went their way: and when
Micah saw that they were too strong for him, he
turned and went back unto his house.”

It was then that the Danities took the city of Laish with the sword. Then the city was destroyed with fire.

Here again, there was no one that told them to STOP IT!   It was truly a war crime.

The pattern was obvious for anyone to see. Theft! Murder! These Danities were evil from the start. It does not matter whether these were a part of God’s chosen few. Evil is evil. You cannot quote it out of existence. Evil’s what it is.

We are told that the teraphim images were used by the Danities even though the Lord’s tent was pitched nearby in Shiloh.

When they started it, it was shown that men desire to be rebellious against the Lord God. Look at Judges 18:30,31.

“And the children of Dan set up the graven image: and
Johnathan, the son of Ger’shom, the son of Manas’she,
he and his sons were priests to the tribe of Dan until the
day of the captivity of the land.”

There are some powerful lessons to be read from this chapter in Judges.

Follow only what God tells us,
• Be on guard that the enemy never has some advantage,
• Stand up for God’s law, and
• Have no pleasure with evil men.

These will require you to be vigilant! Pay No attention to what men try to persuade you to do.

“The Bible stands like a rock undaunted
‘Mid the raging storms of time;
Its pages burn with the truth eternal,
And they glow with a light sublime.

The Bible stands tho’ the hills may tumble,
It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;
I will plant my feet on its firm foundation,
For the Bible stands,
The Bible stands

The Bible stands like a mountain tow’ring
Far above the works of man;
Its truth by none ever was refuted,
And destroy it they never can.

The Bible stands and it will forever,
When the world has passed away;
By inspiration it has been given,
All its precepts I will obey.

The Bible stands every test we give it,
For its Author is divine;
By grace alone I will expect to live it,
And to prove it and make it mine.”
