Death Is A Plague

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die,
but after this the judgment:”   Hebrews 9:27.

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the
gospel which I preached unto you, which also
ye have received, and wherein ye stand.”    I Corinthians 15:1.

Every generation has a person stand up and loudly tell all humans who will listen that death the ancient enemy of all mankind, that is always first, there is no god and eternity is a figment of the simple mind and that no life is after death. These men, and it is mainly men, who spout such lies on the populace even though some females such as Madilyn O’Hare do speak out with their hatred of the Lord.

Our own generation is no exception to the rule since we have seen and heard different people make statements concerning the existence of God. Such people as Bill Maher enjoy ridiculing their own Jewish background and cut and slice verbally all those of us who are believers in a Divine Being.

The name of this religion and it has the format of a religion is atheism. Once the mind grasps what atheism is stating it becomes a belief that not only discounts the intellectual capacity but also is a sign of mentally ill people.

Atheism can not answer the following questions which we all raise and want to know.

  • Who am I ?
  • Where am I going?
  • Why am I living?
  • What is my destiny on earth?
  • When do I cease to exist?

The issues listed above demand an answer. Atheism can not give a meaningful response to any of these questions. The atheist finds himself in a trap that has no way out. The atheist can only talk and become wordy. Maybe it can best be said the atheist has tied himself into a Gordian knot.

This generation has been given the name of Millennials. Many of these young people have foolishly adopted a life style of the atheist:

  • Seldom darken a church door.
  • Laugh at morality.
  • Have no standard of truth.
  • Believe in socialism.
  • Government knows best.
  • Indulge in controlled substances.
  • Accept lying as a way of life.
  • Hold to the position of the latest fad of the social media.

This philosophy only breeds corruption, chaos, and confusion. We are soon going into a time of mental insanity as we in the United States do every four years, but do have a name; it is called the Presidential Election year. Except the tragic results the drama is fun to watch. Remember there will be little mention of Christianity. Enjoy from January 1, 2016 through November 1, 2016.

When God presents some method or movement then man will make an effort to counterfeit what the Lord has laid out to some benefit for all people. This is true when we try to tell people what the Gospel is. From what the Gospel means in a translation is very simple so that all people can understand the impact it has on all people those who wrap their minds around the word Gospel it is a group of actions. Here are some thoughts of what people say is the gospel.

  • Feeding the poor – this is a fruit of the Gospel..
  • Education – this is a fruit of the Gospel
  • Hospitals – this is a fruit of the Gospel.
  • Caring for widows – this is a fruit of the Gospel.
  • Caring for orphans – this is a fruit of the Gospel.
  • Love – this is a fruit of the Gospel.
  • Peace – this is a fruit of the Gospel.

None of these listed above is the Gospel. The definition of the Gospel is found in I Corinthians 15:1-4.

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto
you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also
ye are saved, if he keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye
have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also
received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And, that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”

Churches are unable to present a solid front of what the good news is and thus there is a division among all groups what we Christians are to proclaim. Never let someone or a group tell you any different than what this passages lays out the meanings otherwise we are gullible for misinformation. What often happens to that there are some who will promote the fruits and thus use it to promote the quest for money to push the flow of sheckles for their endeavors.

Remember the Gospel is the death, burial and Resurrection of Jesus from the grave – then the fruits of the good news can be honored.

The apostle Paul gives to us a list of who saw the Son of God after the resurrection but it is assumed that with exception of Paul all had known Christ before His murder by the Jewish leaders. Paul lays out who witnessed the results of restoring His life after death: Paul in I Corinthians 15: 5-10 tells us this.

“And that he was seen of Ce’phas then of the twelve: After that he was seen of
above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain unto
this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then
of all of the apostles. Land last of all he was seen of me also as of one born out
of due time, For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an
apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am
what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I
laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which
was with me.”

The following is a list of who saw Him and some saw Christ more than once:

  • Mary.
  • Ten apostles.
  • Thomas and others.
  • 2 on the Road to Emmaus
  • 500 people
  • Women
  • Fishermen.
  • Time of ascending into heaven.
  • There were probably others also.

Then we are told and believe that He appeared to Paul. He explained this in I Corinthians 15:10.

“But by the grace of God I am what I am; and his grace which was bestowed
upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all; yet
now I, but the grace of God which was with me.”

To deny Christ died and then arose would be absurd. So many people saw the man it would be unreasonable to believe He did not arise from the tomb.

It makes no sense to give yourself to a lie.

Now death has been conquered.

Paul told the church at Corinth to look at it or leave it alone. No one wants to ever base their future life and hope on a lie. Only a fool would do this. We are told in I Corinthians 15: 11.

“Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.”

Actually when we look at atheism it is an enemy to all that is good, righteous and spiritually pure. The psalmist says in Psalms 14:1

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they
have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”

Once a person claims he or she is an atheist then anything can be justified since there can be no law, no punishment and no ability to reason. These are fools which can only bring sorrow on those who believe their Satanic remarks.

It is only the Christ who produces justice for us to live. Look at the people who believe only in the State for spiritual solutions.

  • Marx
  • Hitler
  • Stalin
  • Mao
  • Obama
  • Mohammed

What did these people produce?  Yes, I will agree that history tells us that Hitler saw to it the trains ran on time in Germany.

Without the resurrection then Christianity is a lie, a fraud and false doctrine which it is not. Paul said as much in I Corinthians 15:15-18.

“Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of
God the he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise
not. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not
raised your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. They also which are
fallen asleep in Christ are perished.”

When you hear someone who denies the teaching of the bodily coming back to life of Christ, remove yourself as quickly as you can.

You will eventually find yourself in a position of hurt, turmoil and confusion. These people have no frame reference for morality and eternity.

The instruction of Paul is clear in I Corinthians 15: 19-22.

“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that
slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the
dead. For as in Adam, all die, even so in Christ shall be made alive.”

Christ was the first man who was dead and arose never to die again. It was a man who first sinned now it was a man Christ, who gave to us eternal life.

Paul this great writer lays it out with dignity but also as this learned Jew could state it with force told these people but also today that Christ will be victorious in I Corinthians 15: 23-24.

“But every man in his own order; Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are
Christ’s at his coming. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered
up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all
rule and all authority and power.”

The evidence is so overwhelming that Christ arose and we must decide the verdict what we will do with the Christ now. There are three basic facts every person must come to grips with about Jesus the Nazarene. They are very simple issues. Look at these. First, Jesus had a profound impact on all civilizations since He lived. Second, He fulfilled many prophecies. Third, His resurrection after His death is established.

Remember this obvious fact. You and I are going to die. Only one person died who came back physically never to die again. That was Jesus, the Son of God. We all are going to live forever but only in one or two places, heaven or hell.

There is a metaphor that Christians use and it follows the narrative of the children of Israel passing through the Jordan River when they entered the Promised Land. In our situation the Jordan River represents death. The World is the east side of the Jordan River. The West side is heaven.

The choice is not mine for you, since all men must decide what will happen. The Gospel must be moved upon.

Keep the faith!

““When I come to the river at the ending of day
When the last winds of sorrow have blown
There’ll be somebody waiting to show me the way
I won’t have to cross Jordan alone.
Often times I’m weary ad troubled and sad
When it seems that my friends have all flown
There is one thought that cheers me and
Makes my heart glad.”
“I won’t have to cross Jordan alone.
Though the billows of trouble and sorrow may sweep
Christ the Savior will care for his own
Till the end of my journey my soul he will keep
And I won’t have to cross Jordan alone
I wont have to cross Jordan alone
Jesus died all my sins to atone
In the darkness I see
He’ll be waiting for me
I won’t have to cross Jordan alone.””
