False Leaders

“Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away
unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.”    I Corinthians 12:2.

The people of the world will follow some of the strangest ideas and promotions. It appears the citizens of the United States will embrace the worst of the worse. Often we finance these weird concoctions of the godless people. It often takes time to thwart the impact which has been brought about by people who are godless.

The American people have swallowed the idea of the  UNITED NATIONS –  hook, line and sinker. This organization came into being officially on October 24, 1945 , and World War II was over.

Look at this record since then to wit:

  • Over 100 million casualties since then in armed conflict
  • At least 150 wars throughout the world.
  • 5 wars in Central Asia.
  • 11 wars in South Asia.
  • 20 wars in Southeast Asia.
  • 13 wars in Eastern Europe.
  • 23 wars in the Middle East.
  • 25 wars in Latin/South America.
  • 50 wars in Africa.
  • UN has never been audited financially.

The first secretary general was Alger Hiss. He was convicted of being a communist in 1948; and served a prison term. This organization from the mind of this writer is evil and contemptuous.

The American government funds a high percentage of the predatory actions in the United Nations.

Paul wrote about this type of fiasco. So did Moses write that the Jews were to keep out the evil of other natures. In Deuteronomy 4: 25 it says leave actions of the pagans alone.

“When thou shall beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall
have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make
a graven image, or the like-ness of anything, and shall do evil in the
sight of the Lord thy God, to provoke him to anger.”

Much of the book of Deuteronomy is instructing people to follow only what God informs them to do. Paul understood human nature because the letter was filled with common sense.

As much as possible stay clear of Godless people.

In the book of Ephesians 4:8 we find these words:

“Wherefore he saith, when he ascended up on high, he led captivity
captive, and gave gifts unto men.”

God wants to give the world the Gospel. He wants it to be preached. The Word can be expounded in different ways. The way God does this is by certain spiritual gifts. Not everyone has the same means of spreading the Gospel. In this way the entire body can be blessed. The manner of spreading the good news may be different.

Paul says something startling in I Corinthians 12:3 when he states that the criteria is when the person proclaims Jesus.

“Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit
of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the
Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.”

No one can make such a statement unless the Holy Spirit gives them the power to do so. All services as well people are not going to proclaim Jesus the same.

The case is that Jesus is the Lord. This is a must before that person can be accepted as a believer.

Churches leave out the fundamental ideas. Immersion has been the accepted way since the day of Pentecost when Peter told the listeners what had to be done. It appears the Disciples of Christ have set aside immersion as a core of this belief. They story was told that a piano had been stolen in a Disciples of Christ church. The people looked all through out the church but it could not be found but three years later it was found in the baptistery. The point is that Christians forget what has to be believed.

Your method of service may be different than mine and vice versa. In I Corinthians 12:4,5, Paul makes this statement to wit:

“Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.”
“And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.”

In my past I have known great orators. These could move a crowd by words and the use of the voice modulation. There were successful men. However, other men did better when talking one on one. Both believed that Jesus was the Son of God. Each said that through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Paul was emphatic when in I Corinthians 12:6 that God is the same.

“And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.”

It would be a dull world if we all liked the same thing and for more the same color of clothes.

There are some facts we should realize about life. Think about these:

  • There will never be another Billy Graham who will preach to the millions – as he did.
  • There will never be another Steve Jobs who built a company like Apple.
  • There will never another man like George Washington who commands such an army.
  • There will never be a man like Bach who wrote the best musical masterpieces.
  • There will never be a poet like Rudyard Kipling that penned such wonderful poems.
  • There will never be another woman like Betsy Ross who helped design our flag.
  • There will never be such a gospel advocate like Paul – that God will ordain.

Now do you understand there will never be another person like you who God has given such unique abilities. You are different. Sense what you should be. Paul wrote about this in Corinthians 12:7.

“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.”

Paul tries to set this out to the people of Corinth. The sculptor begins to name talents that can be used for the honor, glory and praise of Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 12:8-10 suggests certain areas given out. This is not an exhaustive list, though.

“For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word
of knowledge by the same Spirit:”
“To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the
same Spirit;”
“To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another
discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the
interpretation of tongues.”

Expect your gift to be different than your brothers and sisters in Christ.

In reality, you know what you must do to praise Christ’s name.

Do not hide your talent.

Your author has two blogs. This one is called DiggingOldWells.com.

The other is a Legal blog that can be found at OdessaLawPractice.com; or you can google my name, Gerald Fugit.

This would not have been done but for the help of  the Blogmaster for both of these websites. She has a talent to go into all of the eccentricities as well as the ups and downs of the digital maze. She has ideas. This is not my field of endeavor –  but hers.  She is a believer.

This is but one person who has brought their talent to help me. People will help you also.

It is sorrowful comment that people will not use what God has bestowed upon them. If I were to guess the percent who do not use what has been placed on them – it would be between 80% to 90% of the population. Look around you and come to a conclusion about those who are not using what God has done for them.

It never matters what you have but the end goal is the same. See Corinthians 12:11.

“But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.”

Romans 12:4 says the same:

“For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office.”

As Christians we must be aware of the directions we are going.

Unfortunately most people do not know who they are, where they are going, why they are traveling, what they are to do, and when they will arrive. Too bad but true. Their purpose in life is not known.

There are two stories about this idea. The original one was “Pilgrim’s Progress” that was the story of a christian going to the holy city. This was written several centuries ago. The second was the “Wizard of Oz” that was a famous movie. The “Wizard of Oz” has the same basic format as “Pilgrim’s Progress”. It was a Holy Word copy. Each story the hero and heroine know what the final goal was.

This is what I Corinthians 12:12 is about.

“Rejoicing in hope; patient tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.”

There can never be any doubt we are to use our gifted talents from God. When one declares her or she is a follower and states Jesus is the Christ can only do this through the Spirit according to I Corinthians 12:13.

“For by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body; whether we be Jews or
Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into
one Spirit.”

Use what God has given to us.

Keep the faith.

“Come holy spirit fall on me now
I need your anointing
Come in your power
I love you holy spirit
You’re captivating my soul
And everyday I grow to love you more
I’m reaching for your heart
You hold my life in your hand
Drawing me closer to you
I feel your power renew
Nothing compares to the place
Where I can see you face to face
I worship you in spirit and in truth.”
