We should worship God all the time - not only when we feel like it.

“Ye shall not do after all the
Things that we do here this day,
Every man whatsoever is right in his
Own eyes.”  Deuteronomy 12:8.

My daughter teaches a class for only women at the Highland Park Presbyterian Church, each Tuesday night. This class is from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. The study is for six or eight weeks. The last session started out with about 60 women who said they were interested and even signed up for this. Since last Tuesday Evening, the course of Bible teaching has dwindled down to ONLY 28 women.

This is typical of the womanly approach to knowing more about Bible principles. The human soul will not be consistent to any long-term endeavor. The best word to describe this mentality is fickle. To expect people to remain stable and resolute in a commitment is too much.  It won’t happen!  Actually, it should be out attitude that the opposite will happen.

Our culture is driven by a short-term commitment. We as a nation always take to sports, eating, and travel. This has always been true of people. The Bible is replete with examples of this action. Those who are resolute in our passions are considered freaks.

Moses knew this fact because he told the Israelites this in, Deuteronomy 30:17-18.

“But if thine heart turn away, so
That thou wilt not hear, but shalt be
Drawn away, and worship other
gods and serve them:
I denounce unto you this day,
That ye shall surely perish, and that
Ye shall not prolong your days upon
The land, wither thou passest over
Jordan to go possess it.”

Moses knew who he was talking to and what was about to happen. Unfortunately, this did happen after David those rulers who came were a group who had no consistent pattern. Some of these kings were faithful – while others were evil to their core.

All you need to do is to observe our culture in order to see the obvious flaws. Those who study public relations understand the fundamental idea that memories are short. It is necessary to place an idea again and again before people. This requires that the product be announced as often as possible.

You must have noticed a particular car is mentioned often. In the area I live the biggest products are cars and furniture. From a national view, I suppose that medicine would be first. The basic ideas are:

  • First, People are fickle,
  • Second, Keep name recognition before the public,
  • Third, Downplay all other brands, and
  • Fourth, Don’t stop – lest the public will forget.

Remember people seldom will do what is best for themselves. Here are some examples:

  • Eating what is sugar coated,
  • Refusing to save money,
  • Relying on government handouts, and
  • Buying a new car every 3 years.

There is one way crowd attendance can be created. This is to serve some food with an entertainment or a radio speaker of some renown. This assures a crowd for about one hour. The contact is not that important.

Another method to have young people come in mass numbers is to bring a drummer, electric guitar player and a big boy band who must wear a goofy hat. Then all of the performers wear torn blue jeans especially around the knees.

It’s a common occurrence to have some testimony by a reformed crack head that has been off of the poison or junk for at least 30 days. This is supposed to bring all to Jesus.

It doesn’t matter how you look at this – it’s pure showmanship!

The same is true with adults – except in this service a collection plate or box is passed around so you can give to article 501(c)(33) to help little children.

There is one thing for sure that little or no Bible teaching is ever presented for either group. Here is what is not taught:

  • Life of purity and of holiness,
  • Immersion,
  • Why the Bible is without error, as originally written,
  • Criticism of evil leadership
  • Evangelism, and
  • Follow up of commitment.

It seems as if what the church does today is to pattern their services after the secular world. This presents a sordid group of people who cannot last.

It was in the truth talking back that called Isaiah, 10:20-22.

“And it shall come to pass in
That day, that the remnant of Israel,
And such as are escaped of the house
Of Jacob, shall no more again stay
Upon him that smote them; but shall
Stay upon the Lord, the holy one of
Israel, in truth.
The remnant shall return, even
The remnant of Jacob, unto the
Mighty God.
For though thy people Israel be
As the sand of the sea, yet the remnant
Of them shall return: the consumption
Decreed shall overflow with righteousness.”

The church of today has embraced socialism and communism. It is all done in the name of civil rights. A blind person can easily see the events and then tell you the results.

The higher leaders of the churches announce often the most perverted sexual ideas. It has now been announced that same sex can marry each other. The homosexuals and queers are very vocal. The muslims – although evil; are correct in their denunciation of this satanic practice.

Some churches believe in abortion. The fundamentalist and Roman Catholics are Biblically correct in opposition to this murderous practice. It is murder pure and simple.

In Odessa, Texas, there is a group called the Life Center.  It is created to stop abortion. Randy Rousse, a board member, told me recently that only about 3% of its budget comes from churches.

Churches of today are as a group – WORLDLY.

It is laughable to see so many groups who collect money to feed the poor and pay the rent of the lazy homeless crack head, alcoholics. Go to any large city and see these people panhandling for gifts. So often, this blog has been about the negative – but, let’s look at the positive points.

It is easy to see the events around each one of us; then come up with negative feelings about all that has happened.  Do not do this. This is mentally and spiritually destructive.

We will figure out a solution to the madness. There is hope all around us.

The Old Testament in Isaiah 54:17, gives us hope.

“No weapon that is formed
Against thee shall prosper; and every
Tongue that shall rise against
Thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants
Of the Lord, and the righteousness
Is of me, saith the Lord.”

This prophet was a giver of hope he again tells us in Isaiah 60:15, about words of encouragement.

“Whereas thou hast been forsaken
And hated so that no man
Went through thee, I will make thee
An eternal Excellency, a joy of many

Even the weeping prophet Jeremiah 23:5, tells us the same thing:

“Behold, the days come saith the
Lord, that I will raise unto David a
Righteous Branch, and a King shall
Reign and prosper, and shall execute
Judgment and justice in the earth.”

The last book of the Old Testament, Malachi 3:1, gives us hope.

“Behold, I will send my messenger
And he shall prepare the way
Before me: and the Lord, whom ye
Seek shall suddenly come to his
Temple, even the messenger of the
Covenant, whom ye delight in
Behold he shall come, saith the
Lord of hosts.”

Then when he came his cousin John the Immerses said this was the hope which has been told in, Matthew 3:3.

“For this is he that was spoken of
By the prophet E-sai’as, saying the
Voice of one crying in the wilderness,
Prepare ye the way of the
Lord, make his path straight.”

Jesus said who he was in Mark 14:62.                              ,

“And Jesus said, I am: and ye
Shall see the Son of man sitting on
The right hand of power, and coming
In the clouds of heaven.”

Those who were around at death said this was a unique man in Mark 15:39.

“And when the centurion , which
Stood over against him, saw that he
So cried out, and gave up the ghost,
He said, truly this man was the Son of God.”

Our lives must be planned because when the book of Acts is read the plan for salvation and the church is set out it starts in, Acts 2:38.

“Then Peter said unto them,
Repent, and be baptized every one of
You in the name of Jesus Christ for
The remission of sins, and ye shall
Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

One should continue to read all of Acts and the church letters of Paul. It is here the foundation is given to us for the Church. The plan is set forth. There must be a plan for the Body of Christ. We have it. Under no circumstances should we follow the plans of the following churches unless they are Bible orientated.

  • Disciples of Christ,
  • Methodist,
  • Episcopal, or Anglican
  • Roman Catholic,
  • Presbyterian, or
  • Church of God

During WWII, a plan was created to construct the atomic bomb. First, a secret city was created north of Santa Fe, New Mexico. This city was Los Alamos. The general in charge was General Leslie R. Groves. The man directly under the general was Robert Oppenheimer, a brilliant scientist. No one could go to Los Alamos unless they first went to 109 East Palace in Santa Fe, New Mexico. All was top secret. The plan was just this. The atomic bomb was built under the plan.

We Christians are not secure people. However we are under a plan which was inaugurated by the Holy Spirit for out salvation. Remember this: the following do not save you.

  • No church,
  • No man,
  • No religious congregation,
  • No ideology, or
  • No political party

Do not be discouraged by your surroundings.  We have hope in Jesus Christ.

  1. Accept the plan in the New Testament,
  2. Depend only on the Bible,
  3. Move away from secularism, and
  4. Stay clear of church organizations

“O worship the King, all glorious above,
O gratefully sing His power and His love;
Our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days,
Pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise.

O tell of His might, O sing of His grace,
Whose robe is the light, whose canopy space,
His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
And dark is His path on the wings of the storm.

The earth with its store of wonders untold,
Almighty, Thy power hath founded of old;
Established it fast by a changeless decree,
And round it hath cast, like a mantle, the sea.

Thy bountiful care, what tongue can recite?
It breathes in the air, it shines in the light;
It streams from the hills, it descends to the plain,
And sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.

Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,
In Thee do we trust, nor find Thee to fail;
Thy mercies how tender, how firm to the end,
Our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend.

O measureless might! Ineffable love!
While angels delight to worship Thee above,
The humbler creation, though feeble their lays,
With true adoration shall all sing Thy praise.”
