Powerful Hate Us

“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

                        Matthew 24:30

`“Because he hath appointed a day,  in which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whomhe hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead  “And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, we will hear thee again on this matter.”

                          Acts 17:31-32

There is a classic piece of history about a nineteen-year-old girl who saved France.  She was born in Domreny, France in January 1412.  Her true name was Jeanne Dari.  She was a plain young peasant girl who could not read or write.

She believed she was called by God to lift the British siege of Orleans.  She went.  She asked the king to give her command over soldiers to fight.

This beauty, modest maiden was brave beyond belief.  Her piety unquestioned.  Before taking command of soldiers, she tells until a committee of theologians asked for a sign.  Her reply should be recalled:

“In the name of God, I have not come to Poiltios to make

signs, but the sign that is given to me is to raise the siege

of Orleans, my only sign shall be to lead brave men to battle.”

The young teenager lifted the siege of Orleans, later she was victorious at Jargeon and Patey.  She even captured the famous English General Talbot.  There were cities that surrendered to her without battle.

She was captured by the Burgundian’s and sold to the British

She claimed she heard voices.  She was told what to do by messengers from God.  The English never recovered from the beatings she dealt upon them.

Her greatness was not in the military leadership but in a pure, true and ardent character.  At the age of nineteen she was burned at the stake

History has given her the name of Joan of Arc.

It was the powerful that despised her.

EARLY CHURCH

The first years of the Apostolic church it was trouble.  The apostles met resistance.  The powers that were despised these people who believed in the resurrection of Jesus from the tomb.

Then Peter made the comment that caused concern about the leadership.  Before the powerful Peter said this as recorded in Acts 4:11-13

“This the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is

become the head of the corner.   Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other   name under  heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.   Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledgof them, that they had been with Jesus.”

In another place Acts 5:24-30 states,

“ Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the

chief priest heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this

would grow.

Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put

In prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.

then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without

violence; for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.

and when they had brought them, they set them before the council;

and the high priest asked them,

saying, did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in

this name?  And behold ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine,

and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, we ought to obey

God rather than men.

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom he slew and

hanged on a tree.

It has been written in this blog before the stages of desire to overcome Christianity.  Here are the stages:

  • Ridicule
  • Hated
  • Deny
  • Kill

Paul the Apostle to the gentiles was the most prolific writer of the New Testament.  It is because of him, Europe, as we know it today, had the gospel told to them.  The first immersion in Europe was a woman by a river and her household.  Paul was thrown into jail.

It seems the reason Paul was not killed sooner than he was if tradition is correct was that the man was constantly on the move.  We know he preached in modern day Turkey, the Greek peninsula and certain islands.  Then Roman itself received the Good News of the glorious Resurrection itself.  He was called before councils, magistrate’s and theologians.  Still he escaped death for awhile.

The powerful hated the first Christians.

PAST HISTORY

Anyone who states the United States was not founded and natured by Bible oriented men and women had little if any knowledge of our history.  From the Mayflower Compact until the writing of the U. S. Constitution God entered into it.

All one would need to do is to read what these men wrote about for themselves and future citizens.

The basis of many actions were grounded in Bible principles.  The first settlers were sending missionaries to the aborigines.

The speeches of Abraham Lincoln often were grounded in Bible principles.  Have you heard of the Cooper Union speech – A House Divided! The attack on slavery!  His desire for a healing in Civil War!

Even our criminal laws are rooted in the concepts God gave to Moses in the Torah.

At the inception of the United States John Adams wrote to his wife on July 3, 1776, the following.

“The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the

history of America.  I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by

succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival.  It ought to be

commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to

God Almighty.  It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade , with

Shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of

This continent to the other from this time forward and forever more.”

Yet, we know that forces have been at work to destroy the founding principles.  Satan has been trying to withdraw the uniques of us.  Richard Viguerie writes the history of the Republican party.  It is titled, “ Take Over the 100 Year War for the Soul of the G. O. P.”

There are forces at work to make the Republican Party into a complete socialistic progressive group.

The Democratic Party is gone.

The powerful in both parties are bent upon destroying the Godly basis of this nation.

The powerful in each party hate we Christians.

EVENTS NOW

It appears the future may be blacker than we might think.  Yet it seems that evidentially the Christians may rise up in revolt by these awful edicts made by the national legislators and the Supreme Court.

It seems as if the atheists and agnostics have decided the public schools are the place where the most damage could be done to the Christians.

  • No school prayer
  • No Bible reading
  • No morals taught
  • No emphasis on Bible heroes
  • No Christian holidays
  • No church services

It would appear the bureaucrat’s national, educators policy makers are determined to destroy any sign of Christian in the public forums.

It seems that any public gathering and a prayer to Almighty God is said that some unbelievers are offended.  A lawsuit is brought to cease and desist that act.

The Republican appointee Brennan wrote an opinion that was responsible for the death of at least 52,000,000 million babies in the United States.  This is murder.  The doctors and nurses and people who perform these acts will answer to God for their killings.

This government is gone amuck.

The man who is in the White House is as close to being a non-believer in Christ as I have ever seen.

Why would you expect him to be otherwise since he went to a Muslim school.  His father evidently hated the United States.  His mother left this nation to go abroad.  He had no Christian training as a  youth.  I have always believed he hates we Christians.

As far as I am concerned the present Democrats are without any form of Christianity.  The Republicans are no better.  Do I think either party will change?  No!

Each gives lip service to Christianity.  Yes!  Will there be a change.  No!

WHAT I WILL SUGGEST

In the Book of Acts after every conversion there was a pattern to be accepted by God.

  • They had to hear the gospel
  • They had to believe the gospel
  • They had to repent of sin
  • They had to confess Christ
  • They had to be immersed

After this a change came to the converts and believers.  It was a given persecution would start.  The rich, powerful and politicians hated them, as they will us also.  Do not be surprised.

There will be an intercession made for us as we are told in Romans 8:

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities : for we know not

what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh

intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

In another of Romans 13:6 states what our attitude must be:

For this cause pay ye tribute also:  for they are  God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.”

Those who are fearful will not be accepted by God as told by Revelation 21:8 is straightforward.

“But the fearful and unbelieving and the abominable, and murderers, and  whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

God has called you and I to stand against the powerful.  Never give into their evil denial of Christ.

I Corinthians 1:26 states who will not be called:

“For ye see your calling brethren, how many wise men after the flesh,  not many mighty, not many noble, are called.”

When Christ returns for His final judgment remember what Jesus said the powerful would not be glad for them all power and glory will be stripped from them.  You should read  Matthew 24:30 again.

“Tempted and tried we’re oft made to wonder,

Why it should be thus all the day long,

While there are others living about us,

Never molested tho in the wrong,

When death has come and taken our loved ones,

 It leaves our home so lonely and drear;

Then do we wonder why others prosper,

Living so wicked year after year>”
