Protect Your Spirit Against Injuries

Preparation of Our Spirit

“Wherefore take unto you the
Whole armour of God, that ye may
Be able to withstand in the evil day,
And having done all, to stand.”
Ephesians 6:13.

When the great aircraft carriers of the United States Navy put out to sea – they are not alone. Around these huge floating metal giants of ships of war are accommodated by other supply ships that are prepared to reinforce the needs of this vessel of war. Certain needs must be met on a daily basis. In short, the ship of the line is prepared for battle.

There are often pictured Navy Seals going out to meet the enemy. There is carried on the backs and the rest of their body 70 to 80 pounds of the necessities to go to war. In order to go into combat huge components of armed gear are carried to meet the enemy. None of this has been left to chance. A reason is known for such each of equipment. Again, short preparation is a key element.

Certain rules when not used can have disastrous results. Near the conclusions of WWII, a cruiser U.S. Indianapolis, was sunk by the Japanese submarine I-58 commanded by Hashimoto. The importance of the cruiser U.S. Indianapolis was – it had delivered the atomic bomb that was delivered on the mainland of Japan.

This U.S. ship was not prepared to enter into the submarine water. When recently repaired in San Francisco, the sonar system was not installed so that it could detect sounds in the sea. It seems the U.S. Navy was in such a hurry to have the cruiser on active duty – that they neglected to install the Sonar System.  The date of this disaster was July 29 & 30, 1945.  It was shameful that this ship was sunk!  They were unprepared to enter the sea and we lost an historic ship.

In war, there is no substitute for preparedness.

One should also be prepared how to make good decisions. Marriage is an event that must be examined carefully. When a young man is about to take the initial step of matrimony he should meet his future wife’s mother for her attitudes.  That is how his fiancé will act and be like in twenty five years. The same could be commented on the young man’s father.  Why take the chance if  an imperfection is detected?  Think before you act!

Look at the mess the Republicans are in as to Obamacare. The Republicans have had 6 or 7 years to propose a plan to replace the monstrosity – yet, they could never get it right. The Democrats are without a doubt socialist or communist in their beliefs. When the vote came on March 23th or 24th  –   these self-centered cowards could not even agree among each other. Deep inside their interest was not for the American people. The leader, Paul Ryan, should never been given the Speaker’s position. He was not prepared to lead.

In the U.S Army, there is one person who checks you before battle it is the First Sergeant. In civilian life, when a building is being constructed the owner or architect’s person is called the Clerk of the Works. Each of these are those who see that sufficient preparation has been completed.

One of the means of explaining what will happen in a disposition is to point how to answer questions. What I do is to tell those who are to be disposed is – to prepare them for any questions they might be asked, under oath.  I cannot tell them the questions which will be asked. I only can tell them how to answer each question. What I’ve done is to alert their minds and the truth will come out. It is the preparation that must be set out.

The writer of this blog has tried hundreds of cases during his career as an attorney. There is a key to any success as a litigator.  It is to know the case from beginning to end. One only expects to get lucky – they use any other approach. Somtimes luck might win – but only when the other side does not do his or her preparation.

A friend of mine told me why he thought that people and churches are not successful. It is because the Third God of the Church is not used. Protestants do not use the Third God, the Holy Ghost.  It is true of Roman Catholics also. They both accept God the Father, God the Son, but seldom if evrn give credit to God the Spirit. Before Christ went back to his Father He spoke of the Holy Ghost. You can read this in Matthew 28:19-20.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all
Nations, baptizing them in the name
Of the Father, and of the Son, and of
The Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all
Things whatsoever I have commanded
You : and, lo, I am with you
Always, even unto the end of the
World. Amen.”

The Holy Spirit has been relegated to a small emotional group.

Here are some areas which have been left out by people and churches:

• Laying on of hands in prayer
• Expecting miracles to happen
• Ask the Spirit to lead
• Allowing the Holy Spirit to be a part of worship.
• Studying what the Bible says about the Holy Ghost.

This shows the Church has not been using the Holy Spirit as a tool for power. What a mistake! It is part of our preparation to understand all phases of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Those of us of the Restoration Plea must group all of elements of the Bible.

There is an organization that has for a motto “Be Prepared”. As a former member of this group as a young boy it has taught to do just that. In former years, this idea was carried forward by thousands of young men and as an “Eagle Scout” and “Order of the Arrow”, this stayed in my mind.

The night of His betrayal Jesus talked to God in the Garden and basically said he had prepared the way for removal of the sins of mankind once the resurrection happened. Read the sentence of this fact in John 17:1-3.

“These words spake Jesus, and
Lifted up his eyes to heaven, and
Said, Father, the hour is come; glorify
Thy Son, that thy Son also may
Glorify thee:
As thou hast given him power
Over all flesh, that he should give
Eternal life to as many as thou hast
Given him.
And this is life eternal, that they
Might know thee the only true God,
And Jesus Christ, whom thou hast
Sent.”

PAUL’S  OUTFIT

This man, Paul, had been through pain and suffering that you and I cannot understand nor can we ever relate to his life. Yes in all of this Paul told these Ephesians, and you and I today, this is what you must know what your Gospel clothes are to be. He said get ready in Ephesians 6:13.

“Wherefore take unto you the
Whole armour of God, that ye may
Be able to withstand in the evil day,
And having done all that, to stand.”

The present belief by stupid people is that it does not matter what you believe. The Church has its adherents to this stupid, ignorant, dim-witted and defective mental concept. This has been fostered by the mindless creators on T.V. and other media. You should listen to the godless announcers on CBS, CNN and MSNBC sometime.  These people are such mixed-up, mindless and idiotic people – one has to shake your head at the idea that it doesn’t matter what you believe.  It matters!

If there is anything that will annoy people – it is the truth! Yet, the truth has been subverted by the following:

• Politicians,
• Some college professors,
• Church leaders,
• Business people, and
• Media moguls.

 Most of the time  …  Those who tell the truth –  are required to be silent or be destroyed!

Yet the holy Bible says do it my way in Ephesians 6:14.

“Stand therefore, having your
Loins girt about with truth, and
Having on the breastplate of righteousness.”

Truth is to be wrapped around us. We can help to substance this with being righteousness.

Protect Your Spirit Against InjuriesThe good news is that the gospel gives peace in our heart and then people will seek to have peace also. As far as I can determine, Christianity is the only religion which gives peace in our lives. Shoes and sandals allow us to travel great distance without injury or having our bodies having abuse. The same with peace within us. That which is without will not be able to hurt or bruise us. The reason is that we are able to move about with ease, is because we know ourselves well. Read this in Ephesians 6:15.

“And your feet shod with the
Preparation of the gospel of peace.”

We must have a protective device that is gracefulness. Paul said that the shield would be our security no matter what happens. We should always see the enemy. He will devour us physically, mentally and spiritually.

There will be an attack against our every weakness. The Shield of Faith sustains who we are. See Ephesians 6:16.

“Above all, taking the shield of
Faith, wherewith ye shall be able to
Quench all the fiery darts of the
Wicked.”

Intellectually, God has assured us of salvation.  So, he has provided a means with which we are to defend ourselves. The Word of God is the offensive weapon of the good. Matthew 26:41, reads this way:

“Watch and pray, that ye enter
Not into temptation : the spirit indeed
Is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

When Jesus was praying in the garden before he was arrested, the remark was directed to some of His disciples but this is true today. This act comes forth as the Holy Spirit moves within us as written in Ephesians 6:18.

“Praying always with all prayer
And supplification in the Spirit, and
Watching thereunto with all perseverance
And supplication for all
Saints.”

In Ephesians 6:18-19, Paul refers to himself as an ambassador. The ambassador is one who’s citizenship is in another place but is now representing that nation in another country. Paul belonged to heaven but he was representative of Jesus Christ here on earth.

“Praying always with all prayer
And supplification in the Spirit, and
Watching thereunto with all perseverance
And supplication for all
Saints;
And for me, the utterance may be
given unto me, that I may open
my mouth boldly, to make known
the mystery of the gospel.”

There was a man Paul sent to this group of people who we know next to nothing about. His responsibility was to inform another congregation what was happening as set out in Ephesians 6:20-22.

“For which I am an ambassador
In bonds: that therein I may speak
Boldly, as I ought to speak.
But that ye also may know my
Affaris, and how I do, Tych’i-cus, a
Beloved brother and faithful minister
In the Lord, shall make me know to
You all things;
Whom I have sent unto you
For the same purpose, that ye might
Know our affairs, and that he might
Comfort your hearts.”

CONCLUSION

He writes to us that the way of protection has been set out:

1. There are defensive means,
2. There is an offensive means,
3. Know that you are an ambassador, and
4. Our peace is His goal.

Use this book of Ephesians as a help for yourself.

Stand prepared and be present!

KEEP THE FAITH!

SOUND THE BATTLE CRY

1. “Sound the battle cry!
See, the foe is nigh;
Raise the standard high for the Lord;
Gird your armor on,
Stand firm, every one;
Rest your cause upon His holy Word.

[CHORUS]
Rouse, then, soldiers, rally round the banner,
Ready, steady, pass the word along;
Onward, forward, shout aloud, Hosanna!
Christ is Captain of the mighty throng.

2. Strong to meet the foe,
Marching on we go,
While our cause we know, must prevail;
Shield and banner bright,
Gleaming in the light;
Battling for the right we ne’er can fail. [Chorus]

3. O! Thou God of all,
Hear us when we call,
Help us one and all by Thy grace;
When the battle’s done,
And the vict’ry’s won,
May we wear the crown before Thy face. [Chorus].”
