“But as for you, ye thought evil against me;
But God meant it unto good, to bring pass,
As it is this day, to save much people alive.”
Genesis 50:20.

One act that someone who wants others to understand the meaning of a thought, a word or an idea will do is give a definition of it. When debating a given subject the person upholding the positive as the negative will define the terms of the words so there will never be any misunderstanding what the meaning is of it. This can be hard to accept.

The word we do not use often but still has a specific concept the word is rare. If we can look at it in a dictionary there could be found a similar idea. Here are some of them – unusual, uncommon, scarce infrequent or occasional.

What was once rare now has been common. Oil was in this category. The Iron ship was a unique boat. Automobiles fall into this idea also. Airplanes could hardly be imagined unless it was seen. What now is common in the past was not believed by some.

Look around you and name some of the things in the past that were considered rare – but, is now common.

There are natural resources that come under the definition of rare. Gold is not everywhere on the planet. Neither is silver dug up when a spade is turned. Your author lives in the Permian Basin of Texas and he knows that oil is not found in one location and then found in another direction.  It is not there. Oil can be found in rocks or sands and seldom in a pond or lake.

One part of the earth is called rare earth. The elements therein are found only in a few places on this globe. The United States and China are two of the spots that we know. These are the elements that are dug in these spots:

  • Cerium
  • Dysprosium
  • Erbium
  • Europium
  • Gadolinium
  • Holmium
  • Lanthanum
  • Lutetium
  • Neodymium
  • Praseodymium
  • Promethium
  • Samarium
  • Scandium
  • Terbium
  • Thallium
  • Ytterbium
  • Yttrium

These are rare elements that are found in few places. The use of rare earth was once mined in the West, but now the mine in California has closed down because the progressives saw to it that such happened. Now we are dependent upon our enemy China to mine and refine this gift from God. These elements are used in computers and digital hardware. I wonder if Charles Schumer or Nancy Pelosi ever heard of rare earth.

The fact is that our Nation’s Defense is being hurt, if rare earth is not used.

There are people who find the niche that fits their personalities This means God has a specific place for each one of us. We are told that a unique person was appointed by Moses to create physical aspects of the Temple for Israel. This took a rare man. That one man was in charge of the directions that God had given to Moses. The Bible talks about this in Exodus 38:22-24.

“And Bezaleel the son of Uri , the son of Hur , of the tribe of Judah , made all that the Lord commanded Moses. And with him was Aholiab son of Ahisamach , of the tribe of Dan, an engraver, and a cunnining workman, and an embroider in blue, and in purple, and in scarlet, and fine linen. All that gold that was occupied for the work in all work holy place, even the gold of the offering, was twenty and nine talents and seven hundred and thirty shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.”

It is estimated that the number of Jews who left Egypt was well over one and a half million people. To pick out of this number of people there was needing to be a rare person who could work with his hands. Such a man like this would be a rare person.

We do not know the time spent in creating this marvelous work, but he must have been a man of ideas but also a person who could make assignments for the work that had to be accomplished. We have no record that any dispute arose among the workmen.

From what we read the chain of command it was God who set out the plan, Moses picked the man in charge, the person told the workers what to do, all was finished from beginning to the end. Another person who was so rare that God did not allow death to take him. There is so little we know about Enoch but what happened is told in Genesis 5:21-24.

“And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God : and he was not; for God too him.”

He was a rare person. This is known about him that he walked with God. There an unusual association and familiarity between one person and the Lord almighty. The other place that tells us about Enoch is found in Jude 14-15.

“And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam prophesied of these saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints. To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and all of their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

He was a prophet or as we would say a preacher. This tells us how unique Enoch must have been even in this day and time. Another person who comes quickly on the scene and then disappears as quickly. After a battle Abraham met him. He was given the title of king. We know very little about this man. His story is found in Genesis 14: 18-20.

“And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter if Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the kings dale. And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. And he blessed him, and said, blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth.”

He must have been different since Hebrews 7:1-4, tells us he was a great man.

“For this Melchisdec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is King of peace. Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of spoils.”

Again, we learn that these people were rare. Since the Holy Word gives us very little information about them. It took awhile for another person to be found. Actually, Moses was 80 years into the making. The first 40 years he lived a life that was in the palace of Pharaoh. The second forty years was in a faraway place that was an agricultural background. He was then called forth by the Lord Almighty. There was a special event which made the situation rare. We know about this from Exodus 3:5-7.

“And he said, Draw nor nigh hither: put off thy shoes from ohh thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Moreover he said, I am the God thy father, The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.”

The life of Moses was so powerful that he changed the entire course of human history. It has not been the same since.

From the time of the burning bush that Moses found his place in the history of the world. The Old Testament is filled with people who came out of an environment that makes them very different. Here are some of the names for which this is true.

1. Samuel
2. Ezekiel
3. Isaiah
4. Amos
5. Jeremiah
6. All of the prophets.

Indeed, some of these people never considered how rare they actually were.

The apostles were so unique from every point of view. These men came from a background that was regional. All were from an area of Galilea except Matthew who was well off and knew people also. Matthew was the exception to the norm.

It has always been a wonderment the way Jesus Christ called his disciples to be followers. Here is an example in Matthew 4:18-22.

“And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. And going on from thence, he saw two other brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. And they immediately left the ship, and their father, and followed him.”

It is hard to imagine how a man, Jesus the Son of God, could walk up to men at work and stop, they would drop what they were doing and follow him . The power of words can be a tremendous force. These were rare men. The world was never the same. What fortified their belief was Jesus Christ coming forth from the tomb alive. There never has been anything like it and it will never happen again.

One of the most rare events in history is the calling forth of Paul. He was chosen from the very beginning. He did not know who he was and what he would do. He was so rare God moved in his life. Acts 9:3-5, is the beginning of such a rare persons life.

“And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there were shined around him a light form heaven. And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, who art thou Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.”

Here is what he did in certain areas:

  • Gave freedom to women.
  • Gave Christianity life to the western world.
  • Gave us concept of evangelism.
  • Gave us the letters to the new churches.
  • Gave us liberty from a harsh Jewish law.
  • Gave us information on how to act in life.

We should thank God, Almighty for his choice of Paul, the Apostle, to the gentiles. Paul was a rare man!

There have been some evil men who were well endowed to do evil in this world. The United States has had its share of men who were hell bent on fraud, corruption and speculation that brought all sorts of sorrow, graft, and fiat money on the American people.

John D. Rockefeller had such a large empire that finally the Supreme Court said -“Enough!”. This man had to be stopped even though he was maybe the single richest man in the world. Then cattle buyers would buy herds of cattle and give them large quantities of salt. So they would want water and allow the cattle to drink all the water they wanted. Then sell the water laden cattle which gained great weight. This increased profit.

Today we are witnessing the Democratic Party pushing socialism and communism though such evil people as Cortez, O Rourke, Schumer and Pelosi. They are not able to read history. If these people are the future of America — get ready for the blood bath.

These politicians are not so rare. They merely appear to be. Any organization or person who opposes the southern wall wants to see Americas hurt, destroyed or killed. They are rare to openly push this no protection. Pelosi can hardly make a complete sentence. She has an evil mind and mouth. It is not Christian. Pray that this group will fail as soon as possible.

There are people who hate the Constitution of this Republic. When such people as the following are wanting, you best look at it again:

  • George Soros
  • Obama
  • Hillary Clinton
  • Bill Clinton
  • All planned parenthood
  • Koch brothers
  • CNN commentators
  • CBS commentators
  • Al Sharpton
  • Democratic Party

The real issue in life is are you a rare person God made each one of us to be unique, unusual, and uncommon. This blog each week want to encourage you personally to be one who uses their talent that you can become who God expects you to be. Christ has taught us in such passages of scripture like Matthew 5, 6 and 7.

We are each rare. May God Almighty lead you.

“Open my eyes, that I may see
Glimpses of truth Thou hast for me;
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free.

Refrain 1:
Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready my God, Thy will to see,
Open my eyes, illumine me,
Spirit divine!

Open my ears, that I may hear
Voices of truth Thou sendest clear;
And while the wave notes fall on my ear,
Everything false will disappear.

Refrain 2:
Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready my God, Thy will to see,
Open my ears, illumine me,
Spirit divine!

Open my mind, that I may read
More of Thy love in word and deed;
What shall I fear while yet Thou dost lead?
Only for light from Thee I plead.

Refrain 3:
Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready my God, Thy will to see,
Open my mind, illumine me,
Spirit divine!

Open my mouth, and let me bear,
Gladly the warm truth everywhere;
Open my heart and let me prepare
Love with Thy children thus to share.

Refrain 4:
Silently now I wait for Thee,
Ready my God, Thy will to see,
Open my heart, illumine me,
Spirit divine!”
