Unexpected General

“Now Jeph’thah the Gileadite was a mighty man of
valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead
begat Jeph’thah.” Judges 11:1.

War is part of the activities of the human race. The conflict between humans, regions and nations is in our make up as people. It seems as if it is as much of each person as breathing in air into our bodies. From our youth up to our schools, universities and adult life we are instructed how we are to appear.

There is no area on the globe that war is not taught from our birth. Those who are not instructed in the art of conflict with others will be destroyed by those who have power and might.

Comments by the leader of any nation who do not insist on being prepared for present and future hostilities puts that group in serious danger. Of course, no one wants to see the bloodshed that war produces.

Peace is a worthy goal to seek.

The attempt to have peace is something that should be sought. The actual fact is universal peace will not come until the King of Kings reigns on this planet. The Apostle John in Revelations 19:19-20, tells us the final battle which the last of God and the evil ones of Satan will be in armed conflict.

“And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth,
and their armies, gathered together to make war
against him that sat on the horse, and against
his army.
And the beast was taken and with him the false
Prophet that wrought miracles before him, with
which he deceived them that had received the
mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his
image. These both were cast alive into a lake of
fire burning with brimstone.”

Only those who do not know history believe we must give into the aggressive demons who are led by our Adversary. Such a mental belief is observed and will bring up all sorts of trouble. This present commander in chief of the United States who is in my opinion a marxist muslim-leaning progressive who is not for peace. Although he makes noises as if he is. He wants to destroy us as a nation by tearing apart our military. These type of actions will bring judgment down upon us.

When we read the Holy Word, we will find a testament for us to use in dealing with other people.

Israel was a group of people that could never make up its mind to follow God or to accept Baal. The result was that when they were weak through paganism and then were invaded continually. The stiffed-necked Jews could not come to the conclusion – that, to win they had to embrace what God told them in the books which Moses had written.

Do you see the similarity in their attitude and the United States and for that matter, all of the Western world? Look around! The evil muslims have sought to conquer us through such leaders as Merkel of Germany, Obama of the United States, and several others in Europe.  All one has to do is read about the swirling events happening in Sweden right now to see how evil they are.

My prayer is that their evil ways will be destroyed as soon as possible!

THE NEED FOR LEADERSHIP

It is puzzling how leadership comes about in our nation.  Men and women have come to the front when needed. It is often the political leaders who kill the victory, when it was in our grasp.

• Harry Truman would not permit the atomic bomb to be used in Korea.
• Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon would not use massive force in Vietnam.
• Bill Clinton took the side of muslims in the Balkan War.
• Ronald Reagan did very little after the barracks were blown up in Lebanon.
• George W. Bush would not stay the course in Iraqi.
• Hussein Obama gave into the Iranians for weapons.
• Jimmy Carter did not know what to do about the embassy captives.

Strength and force was the only way out of these predicaments. It was General McArthur who stated, “There is no substitute for victory”.

Remember that strength will assure our victory when we are followers of Jesus Christ.

The man Jeph’thah was a leader and it may have been because he was forced to find his own way. His story in the beginning was pathetic because he was the son of a whore. He was a son of a bitch. Judges 11:1-3 lays out his early background.

“Now Jeph’thah the Gileadite was a mighty man of
valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead
begat Jeph’thah.”
“And Gilead’s wife bare him sons; and his wife’s sons
grew up, and they thrust out Jeph’thah, and said unto
him, thou shalt not inherit in our father’s house; for
thou art the son of a strange woman.
Then Jeph’thah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in
the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men
to Jeph’thah, and went out with him.”

His father sought a woman who the Bible called a harlot. As soon as one became a grownup, it would stand to reason that one would become one of two ways. They would either to sink into the cesspool of society or surround themselves as a leader of the worthless. He was a leader.

What always happens when the righteous do nothing then an invasion takes place. It happened to Israel. Judges 11:4,5 sets this out.

“And it came to pass in process of time, that the
children of Ammon made war against Israel.
And it was so, that when the children of Ammon
made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead
went to fetch Jeph’thah out of the land of Tob.”

The cry for help went out for a leader to save Israel. There was a need for someone to fight. Where were the wealthy, rich and powerful? They were not capable. Someone who was an outcast was their hope. Judges 11:6 in short tells this.

“And they said unto Jeph’thah, come, and be our
captain, that we may fight with the children of
Ammon.”

In my opinion he knew these Jews for what they were. They were liars, soft and covenant breakers. So Jeph’thah trusted these people as can be seen from Judges 11:10,11.

“And the elders of Gilead said unto Jeph’thah, the
Lord be witness between us, if we do not so
according to thy words.
Then Jeph’thah went with the elders of Gilead, and
the people made him head and captain over them:
and Jeph’thah uttered all his words before the Lord
in Miz’peh.”

Jeph’thah told the invaders to get out of Israel. This request was refused.

EXCHANGE OF WORDS

Jeph’thah recounted what took place when Moses led the sons of Abraham through this area. All Moses requested was to pass through. No stealing. No taking of water. No disturbances. He was refused.

Although the scripture is not set out as told – the end part is found in Judges 11:21-23.

“And the Lord God of Israel delivered Sihon and
all his people into the hand of Israel, and they
smote them: so Israel possessed all the land of
the Amorites, the inhabitants of that country.
And they possessed all the coasts of the Amorites,
from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and from the
wilderness even unto Jordan.
So now the Lord God of Israel hath dispossessed
the Amorites from before his people Israel, and
shouldest thou possess it?”

This man Jeph’thah knew the history of Israel’s past. He could meet any argument thrown up to him because he knew what to expect from these pagans. He knew what was inevitable. It was war. Here was man who sought to avoid war but it could not be done. A battle was in the future. There was no way around it.

In Judges 11:27,28, here Japh’thah laid out his final word for relief:

“Wherefore I have not sinned against thee, but
thou doest me wrong to war against me: the Lord
the Judge be judge this day between the children
of Israel and the children of Ammon.
Howbeit the king of the children of Ammon
hearkened not unto the words of Jeph’thah which
he sent him.”

There was no long discussion with the enemy. It was straight forward from the beginning. The announcement was do it or there will be a struggle. Since evil always believes that it will destroy God’s way  –  then war must come.

war-meme
War will come to us also. Recently the Chinese would not supply stairs for the President to leave Air Force One.  Boy – was that a slap in the face!   Iran is putting their sea vessels closer and closer to our ships. This is a type of in your face. Russia flies its planes within yards of ours. This is another slap in our face.

WHERE IS THE MAN?

As one sees the national scene it is obvious that no man has arisen who says he will fight corruption, deception and evil. Yet somewhere he must be. It seems as if what we care about is our iPad, laptop or Smartphone. Someone should say give me the baton and I will run with it.

A man who I have known for 30 years came up to me this last week. His comment unsolicited by me, was like the preachers of today were to be sure the money was coming. This person was business oriented. Maybe there is a Jeph’thah in this land. It certainly is not Hillary Clinton. Donald Trump could be. He understands strength.

The roots of war may have several causes such as land, religion, and wealth but we should never forget that that political power can be a motivational factor because it is caused by men who push for the conflict. We should never forget that politicians are attracted to various offices because of the power that is derived from the office.

There are obviously certain facts which instructs us the coming war. The best way to foresee the future is to read and then read some more of the past. We then can know tomorrow.

Your wisdom and knowledge shall inform you of the coming events. China is a godless nation!

We should expect an aggressive attitude toward us. China means us no good. Iran is evil to its core with the nation controlled by the imams who hate us because we believe in Christ it will seek to remove us as a principal power. Then Russia will be an opponent that will seek every means to make us subservient to them. It seems all three of these want some sort of armed conflict.

CONFLICT

Here are some thoughts how to deal with these three adversaries:

1. Use brute force against each one.
2. Remember we must seek God before we start any action.
3. Read Holy Scripture to know how the pagans will act.
4. Show no fear.

KEEP THE FAITH!

STAND UP, STAND UP FOR JESUS

“Stand up, stand up for Jesus, ye soldiers of the cross;
Lift high His royal banner, it must not suffer loss.
From victory unto victory His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished, and Christ is Lord indeed.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, the solemn watchword hear;
If while ye sleep He suffers, away with shame and fear;
Where’er ye meet with evil, within you or without,
Charge for the God of battles, and put the foe to rout.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, the trumpet call obey;
Forth to the mighty conflict, in this His glorious day.
Ye that are brave now serve Him against unnumbered foes;
Let courage rise with danger, and strength to strength oppose.

Stand up, stand up for Jesus, stand in His strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you, ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the Gospel armor, each piece put on with prayer;
Where duty calls or danger, be never wanting there.”
