Unity Is A Priority

“I, therefore, the prisoner of the
Lord, beseech you that ye walk
Worthy of the vocation wherewith
Ye are called.” Ephesians 4:1.

It is a common practice for all institutions to divide. There are so many diverse attitudes about all given events and situations. The result always is that no one can tell us what to do. There is confusion that comes about when a decision must be found.

This is true for individuals, groups, families, and nations. There is a basic law that there will be a division. We have seen this in politics in the Presidential race for 2016. The Democrats sat back and mentally considered the race over. Hillary Clinton had already won! The Republican party did not know what to do with Donald Trump. One by one he destroyed the other sixteen politicians hopefuls. It was like rolling pins hit by a bowling ball. It was over.

The Unexpected took place.

There was and still is the fact few people can explain the event except that one man said he had a plan. There was division of the most knowledgeable in both parties. Even today this cannot be comprehended by the professionals.

The same confusion puzzles the modern day mainline Protestants – as well, as I think the Roman Catholics. There is a basic fundamental flow by churches today. These groups have lost their souls to Satan. The professionals no longer hold on to the core beliefs. One way you can see this is how these groups seek to hold on to members and bring the Millennials into the congregations. Here look at some of the innovative attempts:

• Special food meals,
• Trips to different places,
• Youth leave on 3 or 4 day trips,
• Discussions on what is wrong in the United States,
• Build a larger building that helps the growth,
• Have another committee meeting about the church,
• Take up political causes, and
• Read “how to books” – never The Bible.

These attempts may last for a short time. Their lasting power is short in duration.

On August 19, 1942, a raid on the Nazi held European continent was carried out by the British and Canadian forces on a French town of Dieppe, which was on the French coast. The British and Canadian force by mid-morning knew their attack had failed miserably.

There was only one course left for the attacks, this was to withdraw. Even this was a failure. There had been no plans to evacuate the troops if defeat was imminent. Fatal casualties were 400 military personnel. This attempt to have a strong hold on Europe had been planned by Churchill and Mountbatten. Both of these men were lightweights from a military point of view.

It seems from the beginning that this plan was doomed for failure. The estimates of German forces were erroneous. There was no clear objective and sloppy execution. It was clearly a plan that was going to be a failure. Does this sound like the Modern Church?

The modern Protestant should see the problem of infidelity. You cannot state that one portion of The Bible is true – but another is scoffed at by an ignorant leadership. If God’s message is a lie, then it is a fraud.  Leave it immediately!

Most of the writing of this blog are about the churches of various groups. The message today is from another view point. Now the emphasis is on the person. The reason for this is the church is made up of individuals.

It is true Paul did write to the churches in many places, but one needs to read the one or two churches to know this man of God was deeply concerned about people. People are the church – not brick masonry, pews, stained glass windows, choir lofts and carpet down the center aisle.

So many times men and women will stand and proclaim our group of people only follow the book. This simply is not so. The New Testament sets out a new pattern for instruction not only churches but also how each one of us is act. It as the Sermon on the mount that Christ told us we individuals are to conduct ourselves.

The 5th, 6th and 7th chapters of Matthew are for people. On occasion I told a minister I had read The Bible through some 40 times, he then told me he knew he had read it one time from Genesis 1 through Revelations 22. Think of it – here was a leader of a church, and this man deep down had no idea what was preached. One time!

Think on these thoughts:

How does Moses teach us today?
• Should Christians use dope?
• What are the grounds for divorce?
• Should Christians ever be in debt? and
• When can we rebel against our government?

Those are all legitimate questions that can be resolved from The New Testament.

There is a man who does not hold much to church building because what they have become is almost satanic with all of the adoption of pagan worship found within the four walls and the roof. From what our knowledge it was the house church and close association that brought great growth for the modern church of China now tried to destroy the word of God in your home. He failed.
Paul called for unity in the church by the leaders who were to conduct themselves properly in Ephesians 4: 1-2 he spoke to each person of the Church. Ephesians 4:1-2.

“Therefore, the prisoner of the
Lord, beseech you that ye walk
Worthy of the vocation wherewith
Ye are called,
With all the lowliness and meekness
With longsuffering, forbearing,
One another in love.”

When people work at this job and calling, then there will be little time to deviate from the word of God. We are to treat each other with intelligent goodwill. This is what love is about. It is not just for a little while but we are to be consistent in our attitude.

It has been my experience that there are floaters in places where men will come into a group and seek trouble then leave. Often, it is over some scriptural interpretation.

When such a person wishes to destroy unity – tell these demons to leave now, not tomorrow – but now!

In Ephesians 4:4-5, Paul uses the word “One” several times to state there is only “One”:

• Spirit
• Hope
• Lord
• Faith
• Baptism
• God and Father, and
• Grace

This quote has a deep meaning. There should be no denomination such as the:

• Roman Catholic
• Methodist
• Disciples of Christ
• Baptist
• Presbyterian
• Pentecostal
• Church of Christ
• Episcopal
• Social Gospel

Do I think this will happen soon? No! absolutely not! The reason is so many leaders will never give up their power, prestige and their position in the world.

It is generally thought Jesus went into hell to preach to those unfortunate souls. It is not worth the time and effort to go into a long discussion what happened at the crucifixion.

Then the apostle goes into a discussion of a division of labor. We should never forget that each person has been given a special talent to erect the kingdom of God. This never happens when people divide the church by the use of our talents.

In Ephesians 4:10-12, it tells us why this was brought about by Gods divine plan.

“He that descended in the same
Also that ascended up far above all
Heavens, that he might fill all things.)
And he gave some, apostles;
And some, prophets and some,
Evangelists; and some, pastors and Teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints,
For the work of the ministry, for the
Edifying of the body of Christ.”

We must understand that God wants a unity of purpose.  The world will not be evangelized until there is a unity of commitment.

When my daughter and I were in Zimbabwe, Africa, the women for the Christian Church wore red while other groups wore other colors. This was stating we are different than the other group. Under no circumstances are we to say our religion is better than another’s religion.

Ephesians 4:13-1:

Till we all come in the unity of
The faith, and of the knowledge of
The Son of God, unto a perfect man,
Unto the measure of the stature of
The fullness of Christ.
That we henceforth be no more
Children, tossed to and fro, and carried
About with every wind of doctrine,
By the sleight of men, and cunning
Craftiness, whereby they lie in
Wait to deceive.”

The doctrine that we accept should only be from The New Testament. Paul told these people not to accept what pagan way in our life.

When there is brought some satanic doctrine it must be refused. Do not listen to men and their pronouncements. As Christians, we use only The New Testament for our rule of faith and practice.

One event that must be remembered and that is that only are we approved by God when the message Paul brings, allows us to secure salvation from God. We are no longer rejected by the Father. One can read this in Ephesians 4:14.

“That we henceforth be no more
Children, tossed to and fro, and carried
About with every wind of doctrine,
By the sleight of men and cunning
Craftiness, whereby they lie in
Wait to deceive.”
Paul tells we Christians he does not want the splits that are found in the church. Actually what these divisions do is literally drive people from Christianity.

It is a sad comment on the leadership today – who do not preach the unity of Gods Body.

Here is some help – which can aid you in your life:

1. Read carefully the book of Ephesians especially Ephesians 4.
2. Rivet your thought on being only a Christian not a member of a denomination.
3. Accept the fact you have a calling.
4. Remember it is about “One”.

“Some day, the silver cord will break,
And I no more as now shall sing;
But oh, the joy when I shall wake
Within the palace of the King

And I shall see Him face to face,
And tell the story—Saved by grace;
And I shall see Him face to face,
And tell the story—Saved by grace.

Some day my earthly house will fall.
I cannot tell how soon ’twill be;
But this I know—my All in All
Has now a place in Heav’n for me.

Some day, when fades the golden sun
Beneath the rosy tinted west,
My Blessed Lord will say, “Well done!”
And I shall enter into rest.

Some day: till then I’ll watch and wait,
My lamp all trimmed and burning bright,
That when my Savior opens the gate,
My soul to Him may take its flight.”
