When Sin Surrounds Us

“Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of
Israel: for the Lord hath a controversy
with the inhabitants of the land, because
there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge
of God in the land.”       Hosea 4:1.

There is a tragic mistake that has been perpetrated upon us by those who are in the positions of power, prestige, and predominance in every field of learning. The government is seldom legally correct much less morally according to the Bible. The rules of this nation whether it be legislators, executives or judges are for the most part seemingly without any deep seated convictions. It is comical how some or most people act.

When we read the Bible this is true but the same rules which God says applies to any person treating another then the same rules should be observed to how a government treats its citizens.

One should understand that the Federal rulers do not think that way.

The Attorney General has been one who cannot tell us the facts or he is certainly not transparent. In a Christian blog do I have the right to criticize the actions of others as well as the Federal Government? God has never said do not review what officials do in the administration no matter what party is in power. The law enforcement officer of the United States is Eric Holder.

• Armed Mexican drug lords in a scandal called “Fast and Furious”.
• Called Fort Hood massacre a”work place violence”
• Allowed conservative groups to be investigated
• Treated muslims terrorist as just criminals
• Allowed Black Panthers to intimidate whites.
• Litmus test in hiring employees
• Tried to stir up racial tension in Ferguson, Missouri.
• Bugging of Sheryl Attkinson who was exposing corruption.

This man was and is a danger to the well being of the citizens of this nation. Is this mixing politics and Christianity? Of course it is! The rule is expose corruption wherever it is.

The opening verse of Hosea 4 is important:

“Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for the Lord hath
a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no
truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.”

One should note the common virtues are gone.

• No truth
• No mercy
• No knowledge of God

These are just the start of the indictment for Hosea 4:2 he further tells what happened:

“By swearing and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing
adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.”

Look what he states again:
• Lying
• Murder
• Stealing
• Adultery

Just a minute is the writer talking about 2015 in my city, Odessa, Texas or your city?

One must understand that sin demands a price. When people commit certain acts the result is always death, destruction and disintegration.

The Lord has said. When evil abounds then hurting and refusal to produce the spiritual nutrition for a powerful people all nature has been affected.

Hosea was speaking and writing to our society as well as Israel. When a preacher or priest does speak out about voiding the moral law or what Jesus said then immediately people attempt to ridicule and laugh at it. Yet it is the duty of the preacher and pastors to say stop this.

Destruction will come to all.

In Hosea 4:3:

“Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein
shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven;
yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.”

The culture and race will be cut off.

In life we should realize that no event just happens. There is no such thing as luck, they don’t just happen, as in an accident. Yes some people make stupid, ignorant statements like the last sentence. The truth is as follows as told in Hosea 4:6.

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast
rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest
to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget
thy children.”

The Bible never states that is just the way it is. It is Satan or God moving in the affairs of nature and men.

What was once glory now becomes slavery and infamy. We were once a great people but it is a fact we are declining. Our work ethnic is disappearing. The outsourcing of work is obvious. The jobs have gone to China, India, and poor countries. The issue is not education, economics or taxation. The problem is a moral problem. It is spiritual. The leaders will be punished. Hosea 4:7,8 says this.

“As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change
their glory into shame.”
“They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.”

Hosea 4:10,11 states the fact. The heart will not worship God when sex and wine are dominant.

“For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom,
and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the Lord.”
“Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.”

Pleasure is not the end means in life.

My father who was a Christian Church/Church of Christ minister told me again and again that men and women generally do not repent, confess and be immersed after the age of forty (40). Sin has grabbed their immortal souls.

The preachers of this age do not know how to tell people there must be repentance. It is not sufficient to ask people would you like an association with this church.? We enjoy life.

Unless a change happens, these young men and women will be prostitutes and men will be adulterous. The government has promoted this attitude. If the woman sins the baby will be aborted. If the man sins he can run off and hide his sin.

It is suggested that sin can be seen every Monday between 1:30 and 5:00 and listen to the young man and woman tell you about sin at the Courthouse. It is about bastard children.

The word “relationship” has taken on a new meaning. It means living together when not married. This has invaded the church also. Hosea 4:14 states:

“I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, not
your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with
whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not
understand shall fall.”

The chance of redemption is always before those who break and ridicule the laws of Jehovah. The issue becomes will repentance come about. The longer they wait the odds go against the acceptance of Jesus Christ.

The church of today is constantly preaching just grace. It seems as if the invitation is to come and you will be given freedom by the Lord Jehovah. As far as the intelligent part of this is – it is nothing but jive talk, rock and roll and pure blather. The comment borders on the absurd to indicate this is all Christianity.

The issue just emphasizing grace is that never is it told what the sinner has grace from. There is some law that has been broken and thus the sinner is never accountable for the law that was broken. If you do not know that the first law is obedience. We must be told what the boundaries are. God set the area where we are to be and then told humans there was a place not to go. The example was the tree in the Garden of Eden.

As I said before when was the last time you heard a minister from the pulpit mention these sins?

• Theft
• Lying
• Fornication
• Cursing
• Working seven days a week
• Tithing
• Evangelism
• Family disruption
• Hell and death

When a minister does not tell the lack of obedience then we mark he or she down as a crowd pleaser as well as biblical illiterate.

It is first the rule of obedience – then comes grace. Grace does not stand-alone. The modern church has been so pumped with propaganda about grace that it has lost the power of conversion.

It was Hosea in 4:15 that said some people refuse the words of God. These sinners will never reform nor repent. Israel was gone. It was Judah who remained near to God. This is true today. Remember the 80/20 Rule of Pareto. Here are two verses from Hosea 4:15,16.

“Though thou, Israel play the harlot, yet not Judah offend; and come not
ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Bethaven nor swear, the Lord liveth.”
“For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: Now the Lord will feed
them as a lamb in a large place.”

Gilgal was a place where a memorial was for the entrance to the Promised Land.  Bethel had become Beth-aven from House of God to house of gods.

Those who embrace gods will become ashamed and finally come to an end. Hosea 4:18,19 lays this out:

“Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers
with shame do love, Give ye.”
“The wind hath bound her up in her wings, and they shall be ashamed
because of their sacrifices.”

The plea of Hosea for restoration went out just as it does today to each one of us. The vast majority never accept Jesus who taught belief, repentance, confession and immersion. Then obedience will be required.

“My faith looks up to Thee, Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine, Now hear me when I pray,
Take all my sin away, O let me from this day,
Be wholly Thine!
While life’s dark maze I tread, And grief’s around me spread,
Be Thou my Guide; Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away, Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside.”                                                             MASON
