Why the Decline?

“Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit
unto himself: according to the multitude of is
fruit he hath increased the alters; according to the
goodness of his land they have made goodly images.
Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty:
He shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their
images.” Hosea 10:1.

Some of the members of various churches and denominations are holding study groups, seminars, and committee meetings to find out why Church Groups are in a decline. However, the memberships are sliding, and some are falling fast. This can be shown the yearly reports of the organizations. Why is attendance is in a free fall?

It seems that a blind person could find a door easier than a solution will be expressed.

The older people are the ones who come together and ponder the reason for the decline. The young millennials are not congregating in the churches. Many seek out the excuses as to why this is happening. The people who are under 30 years of age have no solution and as a very practical matter, don’t want to be bothered to figure out an answer.

The millenials don’t consider God to be relevant – almost as if he doesn’t exist. Their mindset is simple. Any thought of a God is super silly. The evidence of this is quite evident on the television, in the social medias and other digital expressions.

The Churches in the communities state that it believes that feeding the indigent, placing food before school children and handouts just before Christmas and Thanksgiving is important. This is the fault of the theology seminaries and their blind socialist communist Marxist professors who have tenure in the universities.

They’re teaching this garbage which will send people to hell.

The perfect example of this psychology was in Jim Jones of the Disciples of Christ. Of course, he went his separate way, obviously. But the fact is that he was trained at Butler University, a Disciples of Christ Institute in Indianapolis, Indiana.

There was a time when this university was Conservative and Bible-Leading and they were true to the Word in the Bible. My father received his training as a minister there. Yet, they changed their slant to a more liberal view, about 10 to 12 years later. Do you know what they produce now?  …   Excellent basketball teams. 🙁

Naturally, I cannot comment on all Theology Schools. But, it seems from listening to other people, that the same change is taking place all over the Western world. It seems that only the people in poor economic areas believe in the Word.

The church that I attend depends upon idiotic and liberal concepts! How much longer will the idiots in the church pews continue to go there? This charade is a mystery even to the so-called prophets among us.

Faith in the Infallibility of the Word is no longer!

It appears that the various denominations refuse to even admit their failure to stop the breach in the wall of church growth. There are several answers to this nightmare, but only a few of them seem to care what is happening. When a person sees a decline in it’s members, and the power and might of a great organization – one would think there would be a desire to bring back that awesome greatness. However, that’s not what happens.

When a person is familiar with the past then a chronicle can be assessed. There could be examples given to inform the reader what is occurring. There could be examples shown in politics and other systems; but since this is a Christian blog, your author will give an example from the Holy Bible.

A nation was started by David. He had the capacity to build a nation literally from scratch. His predecessor Saul tried to hold the various tribes together, but, his death in battle brought this to an end. David, the Shephard, was able to accomplish this feat by the use of military arms and agile prowess. The Nation of Israel had its beginning because the twelve tribes became ONE.

Then, under David’s son Solomon, it even increased its’ size, influence and strength. Outsiders were astounded how large these had tribe had grown.

The nation became top heavy for several reasons. One reason was that the leadership had lost its vision for growth. The spirit of “Can do” –  was gone. Yes, there were often forces at play, but the driving force was no longer present. It seems we produce more and have a greater capacity of energy – when times are difficult.

It seems that mankind cannot tolerate prosperity for a long period and to have great wealth is actual a blight on we humans.

All religious groups desire to have a location where their ideas are taught.
Here are some:

  •  Baptist – Baylor University,
  • Latter Day Saints – Brigham Young University,
  • Methodist – Southern Methodist University,
  •  Roman Catholic – Georgetown University,
  •  Disciples of Christ – Texas Christian University.

There are other institutions and denominations that could be mentioned. One would think that a plan to rejuvenate these groups could be devised. Such plans never happen and if someone DOES suggest something, they’re told they are worthless or unworkable.

Another factor that comes about is there is a great shift and tremendous change in the fundamental beliefs at the very core of the concepts. We can see this happening in our nation. Some citizens want to do away with the Second Amendment. In effect, the average person could not possess a gun or fire arm.

The Democratic Party wants to see the destruction of the core values of the United States Constitution. This is the party of destruction and chaos. Only the doctrine of evi will be tolerated under the leadership of Obama, Pelosi, Schumer, and the Clintons.

It’s ONLY about the ego and manipulating their POWER!

It has already been written how empires, nations and cultures rise and fall by Edward Gibbon. Very few people have heard of this tremendous work. He wrote, “The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire”. It’s a graphic description of what happens to Empires. I think the same thing happens to religious groups.

Based upon history, such groups as the Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Roman Catholics and Disciples of Christ are finished. This is not to say Christianity will expire.

We are told the Message of Christ will never die.

There is a certain feeling of melancholy that comes over a historian who studies the human race. You began to see how corrupt people are in every sphere of life. Imperfect human beings are always weak and degenerate beings. They are impossible to self-cure.

It makes me laugh and laugh when someone says that humans can help themselves. That will never be. Not in THIS world.  This is the reason that we need and must have a Savior. The Christians know this is not a theory. It’s also a fact.

It was the Hebrew people who said that God demands another way of life. He said to Moses that there is another way men must live. Even when these Jews were in captivity the standard was to be kept. Do not become like those who hold you as slaves. We see this in the lives of special men. Daniel 9:7-8, gives to us while in Babylon these words.

“O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but
into us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the
men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
and unto all Isreal, that are near, and that are far
off, through all the countries whither thou hast
driven them, because of their trespass that they
have trespassed against thee.”

“O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.”

The Nehemiah 1:8,9, sets out what God expected of these strange and peculiar people.

“Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou
commandest thy servant Moses, saying, if ye
transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations.

But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments,
and do them; though there were of you cast out unto
the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather
them from thence, and will bring them unto the place
that I have chosen to set my name there.”

Jesus the Messiah told his followers to do the following in Mark 16:15, 16.

“And he said unto them, go ye into all the world,
and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;
But he that believeth not shall be damned.”

We are different. We are of the corrupt human race, but we have been purified. We are different. We have a deep responsibility to change the world by telling others about Jesus Christ. Luke 24:46, 47, 48, has given us the action to take.

“And said unto them, thus it is written, and
thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise
from the dead the third day:
and that repentance and remission of sins
should be preached in his name among all nations,
beginning at Jerusalem.
And ye are witnesses of these things.”

The Church of Today has become part of our wicked world. The sermons of today never tell us to act differently.

Sin is just this: SIN! Lying is just that – a lie.

They pray that there are more ways to Eternity – when there is not. Jesus is the way. Our standard of life is not the same as the worldlings.

The Modern Church is a mess. The people outside the Church describe the true Christians as if they are peculiar and different.

Before long the Christians took over the languages of the Jews; but were still demanding a separate existence. Today this is not so. No one can tell the difference between a worldling and a Christian. When this happens, the Church is no longer the Bride of Christ.

There is a belief that we must be like the world. In fact, we have begun to be like the government. The sign of a Christian is to feed the poor and homeless. Without any mental deliberation, this is not the Gospel. What we are told the world is found in I Corinthians 15:1-4.

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the
gospel which I preached unto you, which also
ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory
what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed
in vain.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also
received, how that Christ died for our sins according
to the scriptures;
and that he was buried, and that he rose again the
third day according to the scriptures.”

This alone is the Gospel. The Modern Church has found itself floundering and here are some of its sins in certain denominations.

⦁ Does not teach the Resurrection, but it is a myth to some groups,
⦁ Does not teach a changed life,
⦁ Does not teach the Purity of the Scripture,
⦁ Does not teach a moral value system, such as fornication, and
⦁ Does not teach that our morals are different in the Church.

In other words, Churches are only a club with a Christian flavor. Personally, I think things are going to get worse among Churches. There will be a further drop in membership. We will be held in contempt by the world. Yet there will be a remnant who will obey God’s Son.

Evil will grab some of the Church Buildings – but, the Church will never be destroyed.

⦁ Know what the Gospel is,
⦁ Stay away from Churches which do not know the Gospel,
⦁ Watch for a weakness in the Church, and
⦁ Speak out against sin.

God Bless Our Republic.

“”Almost persuaded,” now to believe;
“Almost persuaded,” Christ to receive;
Seems now some soul to say,
“Go, Spirit, go Thy way.””

Some more convenient day
On Thee I’ll call.”
“Almost persuaded,” come, come today;
“Almost persuaded,” turn not away.

Jesus invites you here,
Angels are ling’ring near,
Prayers rise from hearts so dear,
O wand’rer, come.

“Almost persuaded,” harvest is past!
“Almost persuaded,” doom comes at last!
“Almost” cannot avail;
“Almost” is but to fail!

Sad, sad, that bitter wail,
“Almost,” but lost.”
