Your Position And Work

“Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
And God hath set some in the church, first apostles,
secondarily, prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles,
then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.”   I Corinthians 12: 27-28.

When the church does not seek to do the will of God then thievery, power and money will prevail. Look around at the various countries and cities of the world and in the United States that are not Christians  –  then a person will see that crime and corruption are a way of life.

The statistics are found in the chart below. This was taken from The Wall Street Journal
on October 26, 2015, page A3. When a person considers there supposedly 330,000,000 citizens in the United States and approximately one half are so called Christians; then the percentage on the mission field is about 1% of the total Christian, if one uses 165,000,000 as Christians in this nation. There is no way to accurately tell how many Christians there are and if those sent are part-time or full-time.  Here is the global presence of missionaries:GLOBAL PRESENCE OF MISSIONARIESIt is suspected that of the 127,000 missionaries that many are Latter Day Saints (Mormon) or from fundamental Bible believing churches. If the numbers could be found, there would be few Disciples of Christ, Church of England or other liberal groups. Their interest is the Social Gospel.

It seems the main-line churches have lost their zeal for the Good News that Christ came, taught, died and rose again the third day from the tomb. The major denominations no longer desire the Gospel be spread. Yet Jesus instructed us to tell others. Luke 24:46-48.

As my father often said the world is in a mell of a hess.

“And said unto them, Thus it is written and, and thus it behoved Christ to
suffer and to rise from the dead the third day:
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name
among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.:
And ye are witnesses of these things.”

In the United States the church body is too busy doing one or more of the following:

  • Silly classes what some person wrote (Never the Bible) or
  • Building a church wing for the youth or
  • A fellowship hall for dinners or entertainment or
  • Seniors riding around to go to Branson, Missouri or
  • Adopting the social gospel to feed the homeless who often are just lazy.

No one has ever told these lukewarm Christians that their task is to spread the fact Jesus the Messiah, came. Each one has a special work that only fits each one of us. Read carefully I Corinthians 12: 15-16.

“If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not the body, is it there-
fore not of the body?
And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body;
is it therefore not of the body.”

Even the largest Protestant group in America will be cutting off their missionary numbers. The Southern Baptist will purge about 18%. This will be done in spite of the muslim attack of Christians.

There has been such a large decrease in numbers of the churches that support missions have had to drastically cut the money.

It is our responsibility to pick what we do best. Then do it. The Holy Scripture clearly teaches each one of us has a task to perform. There is to be an no class destruction over some one else who seemingly has a lesser position. We all are one body. I Corinthians 12:19-20 raises this issue:

“And if they were all one member, where were the body.”
“But now are they many members, yet but one body.”

What happens in churches is that Christians will base their opinions upon those who gave a large sum of money. The chief value of many is the fact that we live in a world which the value of money is over estimated. Remember that Jesus always treated the rich with contempt. Here are some areas He mentioned.

  • Rich man and Lazarus – no name
  • Rich man who started to build more barns. – no name
  • Rich money charges in the Temple. – no name
  • Rich priest who killed Jesus – no name

One can’t but notice how these people were placed in a bad light.

We all have a place in the working of the church. No one is less or more than a brother or sister in Christ. I Corinthians 12:23 teaches on this idea with clout.

“And those members of the body; which we think to be less honourable,
upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts
have more abundant comeliness.”

The rich churches are often peopled by second and third generations of the rich. Arrogance is a way of life with them.

My daughter recently attended a fund raising event for wayward young women.  At her table were several rich couples who were seated. There were 10 people at the table. Not one ever inquired about her personally. This was in Dallas, Texas at the Anatole Hotel. We should respect each other. Christians can be self-centered. I told her later to laugh at those self-centered people.

The wealth of this nation and many other countries actually has brought about some serious problems:

  • No one in this country need go hungry. Food is easily obtained.
  • No one need sleep in the outside elements. Shelter can be found in every city.
  • Clothes are everywhere. Garments are easily obtained.
  • Transportation is now no major consideration. There are roads, cars, trucks and buses constantly going from one place to another.
  • Medical aid is a large gift. Medical is not a worry.

The fact is that the blessing of obtaining necessities of life has turned out to a hindrance to following God and the human spirit.

What has happened to the attitude of people is that the vast majority of people are guided by entitlement. This has been taught to the young to feel the government must provide certain aspects of living. The list is easily seen by the readers.

As a reader you can enlarge upon this free list: to wit,

  • Public schools
  • College degree
  • Vocational training
  • Medicare
  • Medicaid
  • Wages
  • Hours to work
  • Hospitalization
  • Murder (abortion)
  • Debt removal
  • Special privilege
  • Now you add to the list also.

This attitude is brought about when the various believers do not see what each is to do in the Kingdom.

The average church member has the attitude someone else can do that service or job. These people will not stoop to a menial task.

There is no position in the body of Christ that is either inferior or superior to any other work within the body of Christ. This means from those that clean the toilets to the chairman of the board have a place. Each one of us has a place where we can serve the King. This is what Paul wrote in I Corinthians 12: 24

“For our comely parts have no need; but God hath tempered the body
together, having given more abundant honour in the part which lacked.”

When some feel he or she is in a position above others then the church is divided at once. Again Paul sums this up in I Corinthians 12: 25-26.

“That there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have
the same care one for another.
And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one
member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.”
When one is hurt all should feel the pain. Our task as Christians is two fold according to Matthew 28:19-20.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and l
lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

It is first to teach. Second it is to convert and immerse the new converts.

There is no reason to adopt the attitude that we are not joined together. We are one in spirit. The remark is found in I Corinthians 12:27.

“”Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.”

Then in two other passages Paul wrote in Romans 12:5 and Ephesians 5:30.

“So we, being man, are one body in Christ, and every one members one
of another.”

“For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.”

Paul named several areas of service. This is not an exhaustive list. This is not exclusive of all others but they are merely examples what could be an area of service. The examples are found in I Corinthians 12: 28-30.

“And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of
Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?”

Every human act is either Godly or ungodly. Your choices tell me who you are. There is no middle ground. This is the conflict which exist in the Christian mind that we can compromise. No you cannot go half way or split the difference. That is called politics.

The last verse in I Corinthians 12 is 30. It is an exhortation.

“Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues: do all interpret?”

When we Christians do not do the commandments of Christ then there is no other person to blame but ourselves. The body of Christ has been influenced by socialist, marxist, social liberals, communist, Democrats, Republicans and bolshevists. It has several forms but all ultimately deny the importance of God and His moral commandments It has a name in the church. It is the Social Gospel. Your writer considers this idea to be damnible.

The church is looked upon as fourth role in our lives. First is me. Second and maybe first but at least second is the government. Third is our family. Fourth, if at all, is the Church of Jesus Christ.

The proper order is the church first, then the other people and institutions. Recently your writer read but has no way of supporting or confirming this figure that 130 million are on some sort of mind changing drugs in the United States. If the figure is true then this is about one third of the entire population of the United States. Have you noticed that some of the young men who kill go into schools and theaters are under the influence of mind alternating pills and or liquids?

This illustrates that none of there have chosen the church and or its institutions to solve problems. As for as your writer knows none of the parents have – either.

The church should be insistent that people take on certain tasks which their talents desires, and psychics have for the body Christ.

There is a doctrine that we are given God’s grace and that is sufficient for us. Yes, God gave us grace that but this does not means that we need to do nothing else. As believing Christians we are instructed to continue what Jesus said for us to do – teach and convert.

Nature abhors a vacuum. The fact is true. God abhors a person who confesses Christ and then does nothing to show his or her belief that Jesus is the Savior of all mankind. This idea that you can confess Christ and that is all that need be done as an end. The doctrine of once in grace always in grace is a damnable lie.

Anyone that keeps a dog in their house knows dogs are messy. The is true of those who do not work or labor for Him they are morally messy. These people are to be avoided at all cost. They are trouble in the church body.

This chapter should encourage each person to know that he or she has a work that will guide others and also ensure their own salvation.

Keep the Faith.

“I need Thee every hour, Most gracious Lord,
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford,
I need Thee, O I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
O bless me now my Savior, I come to Thee!!
I need Thee every hour, Most Holy One;
Oh! Make me Thine indeed, thou blessed Son!”
