“And Cain knew his wife,
And she conceived, and bore Enoch,
And he builded a city,
After the name of his son E’noch.”  Genesis 4:17.

There are some statistics that when read are troubling to we followers of Jesus Christ. These figures should cause Christian concern because without believers our culture will disappear into the history books and computers. Let me share some of the dates as shared in the “Christian Standard”, a nondenominational publication of the Bible-Believing Christian churches sometimes referred to as a conservative group.

It has been stated that 4 out of 5 Americans live in an urban center. According to the article this is the first time this has been this high. The United Nations estimates that 55% of the world’s people lives in urban areas. Think about this for a minute to realize how important cities are to we Christians. There will be more people living outside of the rural areas, than in the small towns and farmlands. This will be a new event.

By the year 2050 — 68% of humans will live in cities.

New England is the home of 5 of the 6 past Christian cities in the United States. Could this be the reason the people, such as the following want to lead the United States in Socialist, Marxist, progressive liberal policies?  Here are a few:

  • Bernie Sanders
  • Elizabeth Warren
  • Alexandria O’Cortez
  • Cuomo
  • De Blasio
  • Legislature of New York State.

Additional examples could be given. Some have estimated that at least 200,000 churches must be planted in the next 30 years.  Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Phoenix, Austin, Houston and St. Louis are some of the cities that strongly exhibit how much we need good churches.

The traditional way of planting a church is no longer present. In the past, this was the set pattern to birth a congregation:

  1. Get some people together.
  2. Build a building.
  3. Hire a preacher.
  4. Go into debt.
  5. Hire a youth director.
  6. Feed some poor people.
  7. Give the preacher medical allowance.
  8. Do not support a missionary.
  9. Have a meal for special events.
  10. Never have a Sunday evening service.
  11. Change preachers about every 4 or 5 years.

Now you have a “church” that believes in very little. There is every bit of effort or a training the members.

The real Churches in America are decreasing in numbers and the buildings are being sold to various wild and crazy groups.

The record from the letters to the letters written by Paul as well as Peter and James and John that in the inception debt was not a part of the beginning. There is no doubt for the construction of our edifice was necessary.

Actually, the Bible is against borrowed funds both for the individual and a building. When Solomon built Solomon Temple, we have no mention of a debt. Seemingly debt was not a factor.  There was an exchange of wealth of one country and another. I Kings 9:10-13, instructs us about this trade.

“And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord, and the king’s house, now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire,) that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee. And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they pleased him not. And he said, What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Ca’bul unto this day.”

The Jewish people were instructed by Moses let other nations borrow from you not vice versa. Deuteronomy 28:11-13, suggests the future for the Jews.

“And the Lord shall make the plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee. The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not he tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath ; If that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I commanded thee this day, to observe and to do them.”

The reason the first church did not believe in debt, if we are correct, is because Moses said in Deuteronomy, God told him what to write. II Peter 1:20-21, tells us the same since scripture was directly from the Almighty one.

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any personal interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of men of God spake as they were moved by the Hold Ghost.”

For the average believer, such commitment is hard to accept in the culture in which we now live. Here is a list of borrowed situations:

  • House payment,
  • Credit cards,
  • Car obligations,
  • School loans,
  • Furniture purchases,
  • Vacation commitments, and
  • Work vehicles.

This list can be enlarged. There are many loans which are not listed above but it is clear the modern person is undoubtedly in debt and they have let this be a part of their life.

It should be no wonder to anyone that the church has adopted the same sinful manner. Some groups view that debt is a strategic tool for the advancement of the Kingdom of Christ. What this shows when Christ followers do the following:

  1. The Bible teaching is not realized.
  2. The leadership does not have a plan.
  3. Big gifts are necessary, and
  4. Is there a cash reserve?

One financial aspect is what method of evangelization is in place for this congregation to expand? The point which must be set out is does an increase the immersion? It probably does not. The need for evangelism has reached a very slow increase. Debt destroys evangelism.

The future must be to evangelize. The Lender is the Master – not the Borrower.

Many Protestant and Orthodox denominations are mere clones of the United Nations. In the past, the World Council of Churches has led the way to the demise of Bible-believing groups. All these groups have done is denounce the Bible, capitalism, and believers.

This group will always uphold communism, socialism, liberalism and progressivism. You can see the fruition in such people as these creeps.

  1. Charles Schumer,
  2. Nancy Pelosi,
  3. Alexandra O’ Cortez
  4. Ilhan Omar
  5. Ayanna Pressley
  6. Rashida Tlaib
  7. Adam Schoff, and
  8. The Democratic Party now.

There is a battle that rages against bible believers because we believe the leadership of Jesus Christ is superior and higher than any special order political, ideology, and denomination.

The modern church has not demanded adherence to the Bible commands. This is one of the serious problems. In the academic community we have to often comprised our beliefs. The young evangelistic seminary students have decided to be cordial. There is no sense in any compromise with these demons of Satan. Now we are faced with these comprises are teaching in the supposed Bible believing seminaries.

Remember: this is a War, not a Game.

In the 1960’s, the Russian Orthodox Church was one-half destroyed.  As far as I know, not one time did the socialist communist, progressive, liberal churches ever condemn the brutality of the Soviet Union.

When the group of these non-believers speak, they are unfamiliar with the Bible. You should note that not one of these people who twist the Holy Word are willing to debate the validity of God’s Holy Word. I have never seen a written debate and/or a spoken debate. Provided if they have then please let me know as soon as possible.

In the debate panel of the Democratic Party staged debate for two nights there was no mention of the lord Jesus Christ. The reason is seen clearly. They are not believers. To my knowledge there is no Christian as the stage, Romans 1:27-31, tells the truth.

“And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents ,Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful.”

The political environment in the United States is not to the best interest of people in general. There is an obvious double standard of the law. Here are some names of people who have been given a pass for indictment.

  • Hillary Clinton
  • Bill Clinton
  • James Comey
  • Jeffery Epstein
  • Obama

There are others but these could be named. The way the government wants each of us to see the world is through a materialistic context. We are to surrender to the state. The usual form is always to help the poor and feed and gave to them by stealing from the middle class. The real purpose of a politician is to get re-elected and this means he or she must be a tax lover.

Paul as has been written that his trust was to these cities:

  • Antioch
  • Selenicia
  • Salomis
  • Perga
  • Philippi
  • Athens
  • Lyslia
  • Ourith
  • Ephesus
  • Colossae
  • Berea
  • Thessalonica

You can see for yourself where his interest was. The place was the city where people were. The first gospel to the Gentiles was in a city that God devoted Peter to teach and preach. Cornelius, the Roman centurion, had built a synagogue in a city where he commanded a company of soldiers.

The great work that God put in Jesus was in and around a special city which we know was Jerusalem, the city of David. The wise men came to Jerusalem first and then to Bethlehem. Then, the Lord started living in Nazareth, in Galilee.

The ministry of Jesus started going from city to city such as talking to the woman at the well. John 4:5-8, takes place at the well for a city.

“Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.”

It is correct that Jesus went from city to city in his preaching. The miracles were delivered so the recipient was to go to Jerusalem to show themselves to the priest. Lazarus and his two sisters lived in city named Bethany. Read it in John 11:1-3.

“Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) Therefore, his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.”

The place where Jesus died was in the city of Jerusalem. Pontius Pilate was the commander of the company of Roman soldiers. The arrest was in this city. The trial was in this city. The scourging was in this city. The burden of the ross was in this city. The crucifixion was in the city limits. The burial was in the city. And, the resurrection was in the city.

The final abode of our spirit will be in a city. Revelations 21:1-3, tells us this.

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.”

There will be a street where the tree of life will be on the other side of the throne as set forth in Revelations 22:1-2.

“And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”

As Christians, our work is to spread the Good News to the cities of this world.

We need to spread the Word to the cities because that’s where the people are. When the church does not meet its obligations to the world’s cities. Remember God destroyed two cities – Sodom and Gomorrah.  We can always find SIN in cities. The task of a Christian is to fight the sins.

  1. Cities must be evangelized.
  2. Bible mentions cities again and again.
  3. Christ did his greatest works in a city.
  4. What have you done in a city?

God Bless Our Republic.

“Sing the wondrous love of Jesus,
sing his mercy and his grace;
in the mansions bright and blessed
he’ll prepare for us a place.

When we all get to heaven,
what a day of rejoicing that will be!
When we all see Jesus
we’ll sing and shout the victory.

While we walk the pilgrim pathway
clouds will overspread the sky,
but when traveling days are over,
not a shadow, not a sigh. [Refrain]

Let us then be true and faithful,
trusting, serving every day;
just one glimpse of Him in glory
will the toils of life repay.”
