Use the Good Book To Overcome Fear

“The Fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.
A good understanding have all they that do.
His commandments,
His praise endureth for ever.”  Psalm 111:10.

Moses had a rare capacity to understand how the human race would react in any given situation. This man was able to understand the deep-seated emotions that large groups of people show when various events happen. They definitely show their true colors.

Moses knew when trouble erupts among a large number of people that they will always show fear.

Specific words can be a synonym for fear. Here are a list of like words:

  • Alarm,
  • Terror,
  • Panic,
  • Scare,
  • Startle,
  • Shock, and
  • Yellow streak.

When the Egyptians saw that the Hebrews had left the nation quickly, Pharaoh assembled his chariots and infantry and sought to get their slave back. The Hebrews were overcome with fear. They had no weapons to fight the trained war men of the Pharaoh. Actually, this rag tag group of slaves did not know what to do.

These fearful Hebrews must have cried, wailed, and screamed. Panic was a dominant force among those millions of people. There was no way out – nor any path of escape. They were lured into a position that seemed hopeless. It was then the voice of Moses heard as told in Exodus 14:13. Now read what the man of God said to the terror-struck people.

“And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever.”

Then, when all of this was over – the Hebrews, lead by Moses, sang a song to glorify their Savior. During times of trouble, you should read the entire chapter of Exodus 15:1-22.

There are several ways that fear can be set aside. Here are some serious questions which should be asked:

  1. What is it that causes this fear?
  2. Who is producing this fear?
  3. When will the fear strike?
  4. Why should I fear this?

What seems to be insurmountable can be overcome, unless God has determined he will steer things a different way.

Fear allows some person, group or ideology to plant FEAR in our minds and hearts.  In ancient times, fear was planted by one side beating drums or blowing horns, before some attack was made. Artillery was used with cannons to soften up the enemy. Before cannons there was the release of rocks or arrows before the attack by an army itself.

The genera idea is to show “how strong their army is”.  This is what Pharaoh did with his six hundred chariots. He put fear into the hearts of the Hebrews.

The United States has had fear injected into our very existence. This has been done in two basic ways:

  1. The Fake News has been the main instigator.
  2. The leaders of the Democratic Party.

The combination of these two insidious entities has caused great fear to arise among many people. Their voices have been used to scare the people over 65 years old. When this happens, the children are then pulled into the quarantine.

It has been an insidious attempt to destroy the liberty of the population. All sort of ridiculous rules have been enforced on people. The list of edicts is long. And useless.

Let me give an example. Grocery stores and liquor stores were allowed to continue operations, yet barber shops and beauty parlors were shut down. Churches were forced into electronic teaching, but alcohol could continue to be sold at convenience stores.

Restaurants were shuttered but gas stations were not. The comparison between other small business could be shown. This was all done to show us how powerful the government was and is. The motivating factor was the constant bombardment of. Fear was the result.

All of the smaller businesses were forced by threat of incarceration or fines to shut down completely. The large businesses, (like Walmart and Amazon), were allowed to RAKE IN THE PROFITS.

The governors of the Democratic states played upon fear. Here is a partial list of the different states:

  • New York,
  • New Jersey,
  • Oregon,
  • Illinois,
  • Michigan,
  • California, and
  • Massachusetts.

Whenever someone speaks – their words have meaning. This is important to grasp as we listen to people convert words to actions. The same is true at the time when thoughts are put into and onto paper or the internet. This fact should never be forgotten.

In the early 1920’s, Adolf Hitler told the world what he was going to do for Germany and TO the rest of Europe. The volume has a name, “Mein Kampf”.  After World War II, Britain and France put a heavy financial burden on the German people. The German people wanted a leader. He came and did exactly what he wrote about. The result was World War II.

The monster, Joseph Stalin, did the same thing except he spoke it. This evil monster put fear into his own people.

All socialist and communist people tell the rest of humanity what their intentions are and will be. These evil people create fear as they seek to follow through Satan’s plan in socialism, progressivism, and communism. Fear is a part of their ”Modius Operandi”.

The political parties of the left are telling we Christians and Constitutionalists what their intentions are and will be. Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and Charles Schumer openly tell us their satanic plans. Beware of these people. These types of devils always want the people to fear the actions of others.

As believers, we must overcome the seedlings of fear. Then, we must condemn their actions.

The American people have been forced to listen to fear produced from many such as the media, the politicians, the medical healthcare providers and the pulpit. People are afraid. The thrust has been to get the people over 65.

America is now reopening. These are the decades when we removed God from our lives:

  • The 1950’s – God was removed from education,
  • The 1960’s – youth lost its morality,
  • The 1970’s – we scoffed at the truth,
  • The 1980’s – we said God was not relevant,
  • The 1990’s – we stopped going to church,
  • The 2000’s – we lost respect for law enforcement,
  • The 2010’s – patriotism was no longer important, and
  • The 2020’s – the judgment is coming down on us.

Fear is a part of our emotions. The Lord, Jehovah is seldom mentioned. But, there will come a day of judgement.  Judgement is upon us and it’s based on how we live our lives.

My hope is you do not hold to the idea that the Coronavirus happened by accident. God has unleashed the fact of our sin upon us. Sin is a reproach to God, but thanks be to the Lord, His Son came and gave us a way out of the grasp of evil. It is called grace.

It is a terrible fact and it gives birth to fear. The modern idea is sin is merely a failure of the person to follow the modern moral edict. The modern man does not believe in sin.

Believe it or not – sin is ever present, and it brings with it the offspring called fear.

The question must always be asked,  “Why did this happen?”  Our nation tried to do business with the Chinese government because we thought there was no moral judgement. The local churches in the United States have taken on the culture of Satan.

There is an unusual event that occurs once fear gains our intentions. Fear produces its results also. What comes next is an obvious happening. The freedom and liberty are surrounded by dictators or socialists. You have witnessed this in the United States at this very time.

We are told businesses must be shut down. It happened. We are told not to travel. It happened. We are told not to mingle among friends. It happened. We were told to have face coverings. It happened. Fear produced the loss of our civil rights.

Finally, some people began to say enough is enough. We are not afraid to stand up to the politicians. The hairdresser in Dallas, Texas is to be extoled. She is a hero to others who were not brave enough to stand up against the County Judge and the other officials.

Unless we Christians and patriots condemn these acts and the removal of our liberties, the fear will be used again. The next time it will be worse. There will be another time. Whether you believe it or not. Each moment will be a steppingstone to the greater power of the Satan worshippers.

Again, and again your author has written that he is a person of The Book. The Book is our road map of life here on this planet. In my mind, the Book speaks to every issue of our life – with no exceptions.

We must let the Book tell us how to cope with the emotion called fear.

The prophets gave us answers about what to do with fear. Jesus himself did the same. The Apostles met this issue also. The early churches made comments about the surroundings.

Genesis 26:24, tells when the Lord appeared to Isaac and told this.

“And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham’s sake.“

Moses gave to the Hebrew children an instruction in Deuteronomy 1:21, when coming to the promised land.

“Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged.“

David knew about fear because so many times it appeared his life would be taken. He wrote in Psalm 15:4, this remark.

“In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.“

Isaiah 51:7, tells us what the nation was to do.

“Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.“

Jeremiah wrote in Lamentations 3:47, what happened to these people.
“Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.“

Luke 13:31-32, is a quote from Jesus:

“The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.  And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.“

John 12:15, tells of a prophecy about Jesus and what to expect.

“Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.“

Paul, the apostle had fear when the heavenly being spoke to him in Acts 27:24. We like to think Paul was never afraid, but he was.

“Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.“

Fear was to be removed from the early Christians because Paul wrote about this in Romans 8:15.

“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.“

It was only natural that fear be a part of the early church but I Timothy 5:20-21, gives an answer.

“Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.“

What these passages show is, how a Christian can remove fear.

These are times when as a Christian we, and myself included, often have great fear. Fear springs up as a weed does in a garden. This must be eradicated as quickly as we can.

As you read what the politicians and the rich like we must never forget these groups always try to produce fear. This is what politicians, and the wealthy, thrive upon. Without fear, there is little value either one has.

There is a fear we are supposed to have. In this time and place one fear is to possess us. This can be read in Revelations 14:7.

“Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.“

Deuteronomy 28:58, instructs us what Moses said to these people and applies to us also.

“Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.“

This should be our fear. Only God. The commands of the heathens are to be observed only when not in conflict with Jehovah.

  1. Fear is part of us.
  2. What does the Bible say about fear.
  3. Jesus spoke of fear.
  4. Our age can promote fear.

God Bless Our Republic.

“More like the Master I would ever be,
More of His meekness, more humility;
More zeal to labor, more courage to be true,
More consecration for work He bids me do.

Take Thou my heart, I would be Thine alone;
Take Thou my heart and make it all Thine own.
Purge me from sin, O Lord, I now implore,
Wash me and keep me Thine forevermore.

More like the Master is my daily prayer;
More strength to carry crosses I must bear;
More earnest effort to bring His kingdom in,
More of His Spirit, the wanderer to win.

More like the Master I would live and grow;
More of His love to others I would show;
More self-denial, like His in Galilee,
More like the Master I long to ever be.”
